Anyone else love the vocals at the end of tell me how, super low and throaty with tons of reverb such an interesting way to end the record
Ok I've been listening on and off all day and this replaces BNE as my favorite paramore album. I wasn't sold on Hard Times when I first heard it but its really grown on me. I love mwy so No Friends was a really cool surprise. Rose-Colored Boy, Forgiveness, Grudges, Tell Me How, and 26 are all top notch. As someone who thought s/t was too long and scattered, I love how cohesive this is.
I'd just like to throw in another vote for "26" to restore more balance to the world. That song is the centerpiece of the record. I dare say with time it might end up being my favorite song they've ever written.
Have only listened once so far but my first impression is that most of the choruses are really strong but the verses didn't stand out for me for a lot of songs. Definitely gonna listen more though. I love the instrumentation on most of the songs though, very strong. I probably won't ever like this album more than the s/t though
On first listen, this was my second or third favorite of their albums. Now I'm gonna take a risk and say it will probably grow to be my favorite. It's somewhere between an 8.5 or 9/10. Both singles flow perfectly in the album and "Told You So" has really grown on me. The one- two punch of "Fake-Happy" and "26" is the highlight of the album for me. The band has really grown in terms of songwriting and lyricism imo.
Chase your bonkers. Maybe it's too literal, or maybe I'm looking too much into it, but I love the juxtaposition of the acoustic guitar into the synths in Fake Happy giving the topic of the song. Like it wants to be a sad acoustic song, but the synths come in and it's this upbeat synthy tune.
Someone on the Paramore subreddit says they'll be at the Fillmore Miami Beach on September 8th, according to a poster at the venue. Looks like it might not be a large-sized tour. Stoked.
Chill I didn't say no one can't have that opinion, just in MY opinion, I don't personally understand, because I think it's a beautiful song. No need to be upset, opinions go both ways.
It's almost as if we have a 3 billion pair genome sequence that determines our individuality... I don't read science fiction tho so idk
why are you saying "chill" and "no need to be upset", that's kinda unnecessary and aggressive. in fact you're seeming the defensive one here haha.
I interpreted your comment to be pretty sarcastic. Just seemed unnecessary to quote me and imply there was something wrong with my comment. I probably reacted more aggressively than necessary, so I do apologize for that.
A thing that I like on this album and a thing I've liked on other paramore songs, is Hayley's restraint. I think her alto range has always been underutilized because they've always wanted to go big or go home. And that's super cool and I love how massive her voice can be, but man, there's just something special when she dials it back and sings in her lower register.
