So what's with the two different sets of lyrics for No Friend? One posted by mewithoutYou and the other that Jason posted a page or two back.
Away from my computer so... How does the track sound with louder vocals? Better? No big difference? I don't mind "quieter" singing moments on tracks but man, it sounds to me like an error in how low Aaron's voice is more than an artistic choice. Aaron has a super unique voice that is awesome, not sure why they wouldn't want to highlight that / use it to benefit the song.
I mean they said in their Zane Lowe interview that keeping Aaron that low in the mix was intentional. Not saying that exempts it from critique, but it's pretty clear that they wanted the track to turn out that way. I still think it's fine, albeit that he could be turned up one or two more notches. And that's coming from someone who considers MWY a top three favorite band.
that song kinda sounds like something off Its All Crazy! in that it sounds, like Jason said above, like Aaron is telling this story around a campfire in a very low register. I love it. Not to take away from the rest of the album because this thing has knocked me on my ass. I adore it. Maybe my favorite Paramore release atm
This is so, so good. I had to wait until after work to pick up the CD and drove to dinner the long way to get a listen in. And I haven't stopped. Someone mentioned earlier that Hayley's voice glides and I can't think of a better way to describe Forgiveness. I find that song really calming for some reason. I can't name a song I don't like. I'm so impressed.
Anyone else think this is a way stronger record than the last one? On my first couple listens, that is what sticks out to me. Every track is killer on this, whereas I was not a fan of Daydreaming, Now, and Future just did nothing for me.
I can't understand disliking 26 at all... when those strings come in. Beautiful. And it's definitely a relatable song.
The best thing about Paramore is that they've been around a long time already, but with how young they started, they're still such a young band, there's no reason they can't keep going for decades to come, as long as they keep persevering. And they've just gotten better and better and better, who knows where they'll end up but it's going to be so exciting to keep watching.
I just hope its not as long as a wait for the next one. After I finished the albun earlier, I started getting sad at the thought of waiting so long again lol.
This whole record is super solid, but man the choruses on Forgiveness and Pool have been stuck in my head since i first listened to the record. Hayley sure knows how to write a strong melody
Yea that's the struggle. I mean I'll always welcome them taking as long as they need if it means they keep going (which I know you do too), but I completely agree it'd be great if they could even get it down to 3 years instead of 4 haha And I swear to god if anyone else hurts this band I'm going to lose it. They seem really solid now, but I thought they were when ST came out too.
Yea I feel they could expand on this sound even further and I am really excited for whatever direction they go in next
