Wow, didn't expect the album so soon. Thought for sure FBR would let All Time Low have their album cycle first, never expected Paramore to release before they did. This single is really catchy. I'm surprised by all of the disappointment about the sound, this is pretty much exactly what I was expecting after the last album. I don't even think it's a very big departure from the self-titled actually, this easily could have been on there
I think it's silly to say they're riding a wave- they've been citing a lot of these bands as influence for a long time. Unfortunately, Hayley and Taylor didn't feel that they could explore those themes until writing for S/T. Now they have and can. It's okay to dislike a song- I just think a lot of the criticism I've seen (esp on twitter) comes from people who think pop music is somehow beneath them. Also, I think lots of people are forgetting the Aaron Weiss co-writer credit on Idle Worship. I'm hoping that's going to be the LTFB sibling on this album.
I fucking love this. Feels like a natural progression from Self Titled. Also, love that Zac is back!!!
This is exactly why Paramore is a band that has managed to stay relevant and become one of the few bands to make it out of the 2000s pop punk scene with long lasting mainstream careers. They're willing to try new things despite what angry YouTube comments will say about them not having the same sound as they did 10 years ago.
Seems weird to criticize 80's influence in pop music, as if thats a trend that only started in the past few years lol I'm definitely glad they're experimenting a bit instead of making some fan service album "sticking to their roots." Song is good.
Nah you can listen to the trillion of boring and derivative bands who are doing the exact same stuff as Paramore did on their first three albums. Paramore moved on to bigger and way better things
Lately ? Where were you when The Killers, The Strokes and all those revival bands came out 15 years ago ? Or Twisted Sisters ? 80s music never disappeared. I'm not into this divide of sounds by eras and such. It doesn't make any sense to me.
Yay I'm already sick of the "it's a gimmick, too 80s influenced blablabla" argument. We're gonna get a lot of that once the abum comes out, good luck staff members.
Who cares if it's a gimmick? It sounds better than any of the shit they've put out the last few records.
Every band is influenced by something. It's up to the band to make it work, and Paramore does, so that's all that matters.
Only way to stay relevant is to change it up. People who get upset are the ones that will drag a band down into obscurity. Bunch of gollums.
I really don't think so. Pretty standard IMO, and quite hidden in the mix if you compare it to a track like 'Ain't It Fun'
I can't get "Hard Times" out of my head, it's been on repeat since it came out. Also the video has already 3 million views.. hope it blows up.
Honestly, this is a great jam. Probably shouldn't make any snap judgements about the entire album based off this one single. Remember "Now"? I mean it was a cool song, but it definitely wasn't the strongest on the S/T and I think it was the first song they released off that
