this is wonderful. "Hard Times" is now my default alarm setting. always gets me moving so hopefully it can scoot me out of bed quicker.
I just finished my first listen, and just wow. This album is seriously so good. Fake Happy and Pool are my two favorites so far.
Actually woke up early and drove around town just so I could listen to this in full in my car before I just got to work. It is amazing. So far Caught in the Middle and Fake Happy are early favs. I am just so excited and proud and love this album so damn much already.
Tomorrow morning is my biweekly "open all the windows drink vodka at 10 am and clean the whole house while blaring music" Saturday morning, and I'm saving my first listen of this until then. I expect much dancing.
just at "fake happy" right now. really digging this so far. This is the first time I've really dug anything by Paramore. Definitely there best stuff.
unpopular opinion: I don't find "Fake Happy" to be a standout track. It's good, but I feel like lyrically that type of song has been done to death and it didn't do much for me personally or stick to me like it has to others.
I miss The Format so much. I was lucky enough to see a Nate show last year to promote his solo album and I sang the loudest when he played Oceans out of the blue.
Some of these songs are musically so upbeat, but the lyrics are so melancholy. I feel like I haven't heard such a stark contrast since The Format. I'm not really big on fun. despite the similar sound.
I'm huge on fun though. Be Calm, The Gambler, etc. I enjoy both albums a lot. Leave it to Nate to make a happy-sounding song about the relationship equivalent of being hanged from the ceiling. I don't think Hayley's lyrics goes into that kind of territory here (or does she?) but I definitely see the resemblance. I'm happy with the comparison because I mentioned a few pages before that those 2 are songwriters whom I relate to the most. Adore this album.
About to head to Target to pick this up then drive around with it for the first time. I'm so excited.
The idea of skipping 26 makes my heart hurt. My review was submitted last night. Could either go live today or Monday. Stoked
I'm still not capable of talking about fun. without experience intense heartbreak. Aim & Ignite is my favorite album ever period no question.
just finished my first listen. i was expecting aaron's vocals to be even quieter based on what everyone was saying. i didn't mind it at all. and this album rules, like totally rules. rose-colored boy, pool, idle worship, ugh just so good.
