What a phenomenonally rhythmic record. Hayley sounds incredible and he guitar work is fantastic... I can't imagine people complaining about there being "no guitars" on this haha. So happy with this, can't waiting to dive deeper into this
Was super upset when Idle Worship ended and I hadn't heard Aaron, then No Friends came on and my jaw dropped a little. For real I love this album. Rose Colored Boy, Fake Happy, Idle Worship, and Tell Me How are my early favorites. Pool and Caught in the Middle are up there too.
I'm in tears hearing Aaron on this, he's so perfect on it, wish he was louder but it works really well
Ok, I'm on Caught in the Middle now. This album is a lot better than I expected from the singles; they're easily my two least favorite tracks so far. Kinda bummed that the opener is a song I really really don't like, but otherwise I'm happy with it up to this point.
Ultimately, this is pretty much what I wanted -- a more focused album than S/T that builds on the poppier songs from that album. Still though, it's a fairly uneven listen. The good songs are pretty great but I'm disappointed that I'm not really down with a third of this.
On my 4th listen now, this album is everything I could ever ask for and more from them. Early top 10 for the year and all summer long stuck playing in my car.
It's weird to think that a song that made me so happy to hear will probably be a lot of people's least favorite song on the record. Oh well
