caught in the middle is the perfect single choice. on an album full of perfect single choices. but this song will be fucking huge this summer. guaranteed.
I really hope so. Usually by the 4th/5th single from an album- an album cycle usually has run its course charting wise.
I hope it gets a big push, then. This should have been one of the first singles, definitely seems like the most radio ready on the record.
its very smart of them to release it as a single right as summer is starting. i think its gonna do very well.
It has been hard not looking at the setlist before I see them next month. Really trying to savor the surprise.
I’m not sure if it was more radio ready than something like Rose Colored Boy. Tbh on first listen I was kind of bored with it until the bridge, then it became my favorite song on the album pretty quickly.
This might sound dumb, but I think RCB is a little too "rock" for modern pop radio. I know, it isn't a rock song, but compared to Caught In the Middle, the latter has more of that "Feel It Still", "Sit Next to Me," or "Ain't It Fun" kind of vibe that fits better on a pop station.
So when this starts playing on the radio, do you think people will claim the chorus is a Lenka ripoff?
Personally I’m shocked CITM is a single. Still remains the standout letdown song on the record for me. Trying to put my biases aside but I don’t think this is a sound that’ll stick well on radio at all.
Oh that must be why Fake Happy has an edited version. That woulda been my pick for a song that would/should blow up big.
Caught In The Middle is a fantastic choice for a single. Also, wasn't The Only Exception also a late single push? That was at least the third single released from that album
Pretty much every song on the album except No Friend obviously could potentially work on the radio I think. I could picture Forgiveness playing on like an adult contemporary channel lol
