They were so great last night! It was a super long set too. 22 songs I think? They played all of After Laughter except for Tell Me How and a few from Riot, BNE, and the S/T.
I’d always been a really casual Paramore fan with some songs I really loved. Enjoyed After Laughter when it came out but I never really went through a phase of being obsessed with them as I did for FOB, Panic, etc... Anyway, I had Ain’t It Fun stuck in my head this morning and decided on a whim to throw on the whole self-titled album. This is incredible!! This is exactly the kind of pop rock album I love, so much ambition and sonic ground covered. I think at the time when it came out it wasn’t really what I was into, but listening now, I’m blown away. This is definitely my favorite Paramore album now, and I’m gonna go through the rest of their albums soon.
Saw them last night and it was awesome! It was the first time I had been to the venue and it was a little quirky (ex: I ended up missing soccer mommy’s whole set bc it was hard to figure out how to actually get into the venue.) But it was still a good time had by all! Also, this guy has been shamelessly dancing to Paramore since age 15 and anyone who tries to belittle me for that can screw right off.
I think 50% of After Laughter is some of the band's best stuff and 50% is sort of middling. Brand New Eyes is definitely still #1 IMO, with Self-titled just barely taking #2
I used to think BNE would not be topped but I honestly think AL is my favorite now. It just never gets old at all
I think After Laughter is near perfect and their best album, but then again I didn't listen to BNE or s/t until after AL. I do think s/t is second to AL
At the very least it's my favorite album in the last 4 years (since Bleachers Strange Desire). It's definitely on some kind of list of my favorite albums of all time.
Saw them last night. It was the most fun I’ve had at a show in a while. I was pleasantly surprised they did their cover of Passionfruit as part of the set. I always liked the band but didn’t really get into them until S/T. Between that & AL, I’m now realizing they’re probably one of my favorite bands.
Said it in the tour thread last night but after seeing them last night, it's finally clicked for me that this is their best album. They've also gotten absolutely incredible live
sounds like they remixed "caught in the middle" a little? sounds blurrier than i remembered, i love it
Hayley just liked my reply tweet about the Nashville show so like, she's kind of aware of my existence.
