So a woman approached me right outside of a Victoria's Secret in Atlanta yesterday.

Her: Excuse me sir, do you talk to black people?
Me: Yes
Her: Do you have black friends?
Me: Yes
Her: Do you go to church?
Me: No
Her: Could you please buy me a pair of panties?
Me: Sorry, no.
Her: Fucking cracker.

LOL. Only thing that would make that story even funnier is if that lady was white.

 

Cringing at the idea of Katy Perry trying to pull off Hard Times. I actually like her and I saw her this year and she was great and all, but this would not be her style at all. Sounds like this friend was basically just saying he doesn't think they should be a pop band.

 

perhaps it wouldn't be better as a katy perry song but it wouldn't hurt to hear a cover. a couple creative differences and i may prefer it tbh.

 

Mini-rant...

When Relient K released Collapsible Lung, I thought a couple times, "Man, this would be better as a Maroon 5 song," but that's because the album came completely out of left field and was a massive decline in quality for them. After Laughter is the exact opposite for Paramore. It's a completely natural progression from their last record and IMO easily their best work. And STILL some of my friends compared this record unfavorably to Katy Perry and Taylor Swift when they heard it just because it's poppier. They've since come around to it, it's just funny to me how people can throw away their critical ear for good music whenever a band/artist goes the pop route. I mean, I'm no music guru, but the minute they released "Told You So" and the guitars in the chorus hit, I knew this record was going to own. Pop or not.

Definitely agree with this and think it's an apt comparison. This Paramore album is a massive step up and a natural progression.

Although there were one or two good songs, Relient K went in such an odd direction with Collapsible Lung and it's pretty hard to look objectively at the albums that came before (and now after) it and not think that it was a step down in terms of quality song writing.

I watched a live stream of IW/NF, I’ll see if the video ended up anywhere.

 

I think it’s largely the same as their US tour set, but I’m pretty jealous of the added songs.
