Riot only sold 42,000 first week, so this sold the least since Riot. I think the other two did 100k +

 

First week isn’t all there is though. Riot is huge

 

Still one of the top 100 albums sold this year with minimal (on purpose) promotion. I think it did it exactly what they wanted.

 

Yeah I don't see the overall sales of this even touching Riot

And the album is great of course, I'm not trying to shit talk at all. Just strictly commercially, I was curious

 

The self-titled album went platinum. Riot is 2x platinum now. BNE I think is platinum.

This is something like 110k.

 

Such a good album. I'm pleased that they did whatever the heck they wanted to do with the promotion, the music, the touring etc. It's good to see.

 

Is it me or did Fueled By Ramen totally drop the ball on their major releases this year? Feels like this and The Front Bottoms got zero promotion.

 

All Time Low too, though Good Times is picking up traction I think

 

I feel like I've seen kind of too much promo for that album in the UK actually, but it's hard to tell as I really didn't like the album and that may cloud my opinion.

 

I don't know much about their other bands, but Paramore specifically requested that this release didn't have a typical promotional campaign.

 

Yeah I hear Good Times on the radio and I've never ever heard All Time Low in the radio where I live before.

 

Fake Happy hit the top 40 on the Alt Rock charts, then quickly fell off. Disappointing, but hopefully can make a comeback.

 

I think heavy promotion is only required for newer artists. Paramore has a huge following already.

 

FBR went through managerial changes this year, probably why their promotion generally sucked for all artists

 

Same. It helped bring out the best in them musically and personally.

 

You can keep saying it, but it won't make it true here.

I like Local Natives. I guess it's finally time to get around to checking out Judah & the Lion and Now, Now. HalfNoise will be cool and obviously makes a ton of sense.

 

Great lineup except fuck Judah and the Lion. Easily the worst live performance I had to sit through this year

 

It's also their best album, which means more to me than sales and Grammy noms. First time I've ever had them on an EOTY list for sure.

 

I'm still not getting why they blew up. That "Take It All Back" song never did anything for me. Meh

 

Judah and the Lion are not something I'm into

 

Very excited to go all out for Now, Now, mwY, and paramore and actually get to relax the rest of the time. I was honestly stressed abt there being six bands I’m obsessed with and trying to stay awake for all the shows. #old
