one of the biggest surprisingly bad band members i've met was ace enders. worst interview i've ever done i've heard nothing but good things about him but that interview felt like he didn't respect me and wanted to get that shit over with
One of the nicest celebrities I ever had the pleasure of meeting was Chester Bennington. Unfortunately, Mike Shinoda was kind of a jerk. Oh well.
I feel like the only noteworthy people I've met are the members of fun., who are all super friendly people. Besides them, there's not really any one I've met except from way back in the day when I met like Tay and Jordan from We Are the In Crowd, who are really nice and talkative people. I guess I've technically met all of Motion City but it was a rushed signing situation so there wasn't much talking. Luckily I've never had a bad experience meeting someone though.
I think the nicest musicians I've met have been Lana Del Rey, Rivers Cuomo, Travis Barker and Tyson Ritter
It was very awkward. The other three members were all hanging out after the show. Davey waited a full two hours in the venue until the crowd died down. Once it did their manager came out and said "no pictures of Davey. No questions about his lyrics. No touching him." It was extremely awkward and kind of ruined the excitement of getting to meet him. I gave him another chance and met him a second time and it played out the same way. The second time someone snapped a pic and while he shouldn't have gone against his wishes and snapped that pic the way Davey reacted to him taking the picture was so overdramatic
Andy hull - super nice and laid back Nathan hussey- mixes my bands music, a great person and someone anyone would want to work with Kevin devine- very briefly but he was super kind Aaron marsh- met at a show shortly after I donated my kidney. He had tweeted me the day the day I donated since I guess my fiancée was asking people she knew I liked to tweet me (I hated that she did this haha). But he was real nice and asked how I was recovering and stuff. Shane told- met him at like 2003 warped tour, was really kind to me. Less than jake- these guys were great. Emery- met everyone in the band briefly they were sort of busy so it was sort of just like a hello thanks for your music sort of deal. I think that's it...
That's crazy to hear. Mike was amazing when I met him. Unfortunately I never got to "meet" Chester outside of shaking his hand after the show
Oh Kiley from Petal is super super sweet, even though I didn't know it was her when I was talking to her.
It could have just been a bad day for him, but he wouldn't look at anyone directly, he hardly said a word to anyone (this was a LPUnderground M&G), and when I handed him something to sign in the signing line he kind of snatched it out my hand, scribbled his signature, and very quickly shoved it to the side. It was just weird. I met Kiley at Bled Fest this year, and she was sooooooo nice. She hugged my friend and talked to me about Julien Baker (I had a JB shirt on) for like 5 minutes.
Met NFG this past tour and Cyrus was just the nicest. Seemed genuinely invested and grateful to be talking to everyone. Rest of the band were cool too
Yea she was just selling merch and I grabbed the vinyl and chatted a little, but I was just getting into her at the time (it was on the Kevin Devine tour), so I didn't even recognize her and then afterwards it kind of clicked. Hopefully I'll meet her again soon!
What happened with Davey? I met hunter and Adam after a show and they were great. Davey was sick and stood in the doorway of their bus to keep warm and only briefly spoke. Seemed a little aloof but wasn't negative. Best off the top of my head: Literally everyone in emery. Those dudes love to talk. Anthony green. "Thanks for seeing my band." The man oozes humility. Tim, grant, Chris in UO. I felt like they were fans of me. Spencer's good too. I've met Aaron thrice and he was always more closed off. Craig owens. May be controversial but I had a great experience. Stephen Christian. And Geoff Rickley obviously.

That is disappointing. Now that you mention it I remember the no picture rule. He was definitely one of my most anticipated meets at the time. In a way still is, I want a second chance haha. I'd love to hear his thoughts on the meets.
I feel like the distinction with a lot of these comes down to the artist's personality type. I know most people wouldn't call me friendly after meeting me for 5 minutes unless we really hit it off
Yea I always feel bad for the way artists are snap judged (not saying it against any of you personally - just the nature of the profession). Like I personally am super awkward at small talk and can be reclusive when meeting someone especially in a group, even though I'm a pretty loud and friendly person when I know someone, and I sometimes worry people think I'm an ass when I meet them. (Example: if someone asks me what I do for work, I'll tell them, but never ask what they do.)
Everybody in Charly Bliss was very nice and they all asked for my name and shook my hand and took a few minutes to chat with me
I met all of New Found Glory (talked to Chad the most and he was really cool. Steve was really quiet but it was pretty soon before the allegations started) and all of the members of Yellowcard, who were pretty cool but didn't really say much. Met Aziz Ansari and got a selfie with him though, that's the most famous person I've met
Travis Barker is probably the nicest big musician I've met. I've met Paramore/Hayley a couple times. She's great.
That's disappointing to hear I always put Davey down as someone that love interacting with the fans. That might explain why you never see a bad picture of Davey then haha.
