this is now my fav Paramore album sorry BNE

 

I wouldn't cut anything but I generally love the idea of a sprawling double LP especially from a band I love diving into several different styles and doing them all well

I get why it's too much for some people / not their fave tho

 

I'm getting close to this point!

 

ain't it fun is still their best song though, i don't know if there's anything on this album i'd take over that or last hope or daydreaming or part II

 

Daydreaming is my favorite on the record by far

 

rose-colored boy and forgiveness maybe but I feel this as well

 

with time I could see those two and maybe 26 rising for me though

it's just still so fresh!!

 

i feel this album is pretty much straight 8.5s all the way through while s/t has 9.5s but also 6s

 

i can't think of an album in a while i like as much as this without a single song i'd really consider for a song of the year list

 

could def see that, feels like a palette cleanser for them / a way to get the new lineup integrated while also just expanding on the poppier stuff from s/t by just writing a lot of great pop songs

would be curious how/if they pivot from this

I would love if they did a quicker turnaround then usual and released something in like 2/2.5 years with more of this sound

 

I would not cut Now or Grow Up but I'm on board with the other two and totally agree about Be Alone.

 

i still can't stand now, that was such a bad single, haha.

grow up has a really great vocal performance but the rest of the song i'm iffy on, wouldn't mind it on there though

It'll be cool to have Zac there the entire time during the writing process, unlike this time.

See exactly. I know people like love Proof, but how most people feel about Proof I feel about Be Alone.

I still like Proof too though, just one of my least favorites on the album. Actually Fast In My Car is probably my true least favorite.

 

Grow Up, Ain't If Fun, and Last Hope are the best.

 

Grudges was 'meh' to me for a while but has now become one of my favorites from the album. Caught in the Middle still doesn't do much for me... Need to grab this on vinyl soon

 

There's more songs on here that I'd cut than on the self titled. 3 here, 2 there.

Also the bridge for Daydreaming is sooooo good.

Those two and No Friend just don't work for me. Everything else is super duper though.

 

Here I'd cut 26, Caught in the Middle, and No Friend.

On S/T I'd cut... Daydreaming, Hate to See Your Heart Break, Be Alone, all the interludes, and Future.

 

Finally receiving the vinyl this week. Surprised I've laid off Brand New for a bit. Think Black Mile to the Surface and After Laughter are still battling in my mind for AOTY. Seeing MO and Paramore within the next two months so those shows may decide a winner.
