That note was so nice. I'm so grateful for this album and for everything surrounding it's release. It was such a special album rollout. I honestly want to hibernate until Riot Fest and then Parahoy because I'm too damn excited to see these songs come to life and to really get this album cycle under way.
Yea this has been one of my favorite album threads in a looong time, especially since the favorite distribution was so wide. Glad it has kept going.
Parahoy sold out right before my presale booking time. Bummed but I immediately went on the waiting list- so fingers crossed that works out and I can somehow get in!
Never have really listened to Paramore much before, but have been going absolutely vibe city on this album over the past few days. What a summer album.
Played this in a car full of inexperienced paramore people last night and idk if they enjoyed it but it was a really great experience for me.
Wow, this album was a huge part of my early teens. I'll have to write something about it later because it still means so much to me and it has aged well.
I remember buying it on iTunes the day it came out, was going on vacation that day and listened to it on repeat on my ipod on the plane. I'll have to spin the record today. Always find myself coming back to it, definitely one of my favorites from 2007
After Laughter is one of the albums we review on this week's Swapping Spit podcast if anyone's interested. Swapping Spit by Corrupted TV on Apple Podcasts
RIOT! still holds up for me. That album has been a part of my life for, shit, probably 10 years. I still remember my babysitter showing me the video for crushcrushcrush and telling me about this thing called Warped Tour when I was probably 9. I think everything the band has done since then has eclipsed it, but Pessimist, That's What You Get, When It Rains, and Let The Flames Begin are still among their best songs. Maybe Born For This would be in there as well. The only real dud is We Are Broken.
Seeing them start their first European tour in nearly 3 years in Dublin on Thursday in a 1,240 capacity venue! My god I am super excited!
Def gonna go through Riot tonight, super fun album. My own experience with it was from the obvious singles and then seeing the album art and being like "Oh sweet Rock Steady!"
I only listened to a few songs from Riot when it first came out, but it was enough to leave an impression of the band that never really went away until I finally dived into the band in full, so I will always appreciate it for being my first introduction to Paramore.
Riot really and truly changed my entire life, I can't believe it's been ten years. Listening through it now and having a lot of emotions. It's still just incredible front to back in my opinion. The only thing I wish is that the version of "We Are Broken" from the Final Riot tour was on the album. It elevated the song so much.
