YES YES YES SEE YOU THERE!!!!! I booked this anti-social cabin in the futile hope of getting any sleep on this trip.
looks like a radio edit of fake happy went up on spotify today. takes out the acoustic intro. so i guess we can assume its the next single?
Kind of disappointed people can't listen to a 20 second intro that sets the mood for the song... but I guess radios would rather have the fake version
finally watched the late late show performance, they were amazingly tight I just wish the studio had thrown some reverb on the mix, so dry
Yeah, the intro is one of the best parts of that song. Wish they wouldn't fix what's not broken. Also, what's the point of taking it out? I don't see how that would affect the success of the song, it's another example of dumbing down songs to dumb down the masses!! (JK, but not really)
the intro is 40 seconds long. it makes sense that the radio wouldn't want to play that part as it doesn't sound like the "actual song." PS: I just noticed that someone whispers "Carlos" at the very of "Fake Happy." Haha what's that about?
I believe the point would be to get straight to a hook/not lose casual listeners during the down dynamic start. It plays more like an intro interlude anyways, so I think the song will stand strong. I like the intro, but cutting it will likely bring more radio success.
Well, radio stations are usually required to play songs within a certain length of time, such as three and a half minutes. There are exceptions, but usually that's why there are radio edits.
No one would want to listen through the slow intro of Fake Happy. They'd just switch to another station.
Makes total sense why they'd cut the intro for the single. That would not work on pop radio at all. And it has nothing to do with it being good or bad.
Yeah I don't think cutting those 40 seconds at all is unreasonable. Gives it a better shot at appealing to the mainstream as a 3:15 song. Doesn't change the spirit of the song either.
I love the fake intro (almost wish there was some demo version of an entire song like it), but I always imagined they'd cut it if it was to ever become a single. Good decision to give it some airplay and some trimming. Edit: It'd actually make the album version hold up a little better because of the change, methinks, kind of like the mariachi intro to "Misery Business."
well the song is definitely on spotify, and the other thing was posted as an assumption and not fact, so...
