I've seen them from every part of the room and can tell you I had just as much fun almost all the way in the back as I did at the barricade! So don't feel like you need to drop $200+ on front row seats.
Anyone else like to sing "No Scrubs" during the bridge of "Caught in the Middle? Just me? Yeah, just me.
I live by a creed of "never watch a late night performance because sound quality is always garbage" and it has served me well
No, but a friend's band is considering covering this and asked for my help trying to arrange the "holiday" interlude over the bridge / throughout the song haha.
I don't even really like this record, aside from 26 and Tell Me How, but the people saying the lyrics are bad and the live performances are bad really have provided the coldest of ice cold takes I have ever seen on this site. The lyrics on this record are fantastic and they absolutely shred live. Come on.
I'm pretty sure it was just one person who brought up the lyrics and another that mentioned the specific performance from Corden was not great. Each comment just happened to incite a flurry of responses. I think the rest are in agreement that Paramore is indeed very dope both lyrically and in a live setting.
never cared about lyrics too much unless something is really obviously too corny or what have you. I kinda feel that way about 'fake happy'. everytime i hear them say "fake happy" i cringe a bit thinking ahhhhhhh i wish you could've used another word.
AOTY contender. Still pretty surprised by how much I love this album, I've listened to it more than any other record this year and I'm not even a huge paramore fan, or used to not be, I consider myself a newbie (barely started liking them with s/t, with the exception of Misery Business) Seriosuly, its like I'm addicted to this album haha
"Fake Happy" goes with the song. I don't think she sat there thinking "what are the most creative words I can use to express this feeling?" I'm guessing those words popped in her head and it just clicked naturally
I think she should think that. That is what separates good lyrics from bad lyrics in my opinion. Like I have said, the lyrics are way too on the nose across the board.
I left this thread on Wednesday because of that Fake Happy discussion, come back two pages later and it's still happening?!
The only reason I am so interested in the subject is that I think it is a great song that only misses the mark because of the weak lyrics. It is one the catchiest songs I've heard in a long time.
my bad i didnt know this was brought up earlier... (or..i didnt know this specific song was the one in question). It's one of my least favorite songs of the album obviously. a few weeks and im still stuck on 5 songs that i like. But Grudges is trying to make it 6.
