Bummmeeeeerrrrrrrr I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait, but still. I was greatly thrown off by rumors of the surprise album drop, only to get a five-month rollout instead
I still remember October 2015 when The 1975 announced their new album would come out in February 2016. It felt so far away. Somehow it still stings haha. This feels the same.
In today's instant satisfaction culture - I am curious why such a long release roll out? Is it because of their size to give any sort of chance at radio, tv, etc. - it has to be that long?
My only thought was all the delays with vinyl and wanting all formats out on release day? But I don't know.
Depends on if you're talking about the time between the first single and the album release or the album announcement and album release. Brand New Eyes was announced on April 29th and released on September 29th. Self-Titled was announced on December 6th and released on April 5th.
Is 5 months really that long? The 1975 had a 5 month rollout and it honestly felt very quick. Might just because I have a lot of personal things going on atm!
Time goes so quick these days. As a teenager this would've lasted a lifetime but I know the record will be here before I know it.
losing it at the fact that they are muted, it feels like every Teams meeting I have been in over the past two years.
Petals for Armor and Flowers for Vases were two of my favorite releases over pandemic so this is very welcome. Looking forward to seeing what the rest of this album brings. Gonna try not to listen to this too many more times before the album drops. Digging this, definitely a step in a direction I like!
