Crediting this to BKV and not Cliff Chiang is a truly cursed thing to do.

Anyways, don’t know that I’ll watch it, but I’m glad Chiang is (presumably) getting paid and hope the young cast is having a good time. Hope it gets more people to pick up that Paper Girls compendium, which is damn good comics and would be a damn good entry point for someone into the comics medium.

I bought this graphic novel awhile ago but still haven’t started it. Now that there’s a show, I feel like I should finally dive into it all. Better late than never?

 

Finished the season tonight. Really enjoyed it and god I hope it sticks around, especially after The Wilds just got canned. I like the cast a lot. The tampon scene, my god.

 

Just finished the season. This is giving me the depth and exploration with KJ and Mac that I wanted from the book. I’m pretty shocked at how different it is in general

 

Took a few week break and getting back into this. This is fantastic.

 

Giggled with delight when Jason Mantzoukas showed up.

 

I think I’m in the minority in feeling like the comics started strong but didn’t really go anywhere / kinda started spinning it’s wheels. Haven’t checked the show out yet for this reason.

 

For what it’s worth, I never connected with the comics but enjoyed the series. They made several changes from the book so it might still be worth a shot

 

Was talking about KJ's arc in the show with a friend and I really love how they expanded her story. Her running into her future self is such a smart storytelling decision. The scene where she asks her future self's girlfriend how she knew was so good. I like how we're seeing her wrestle with all of it in a way that feels true and appropriate for a 12 year old girl

Yeah this sucks

BKV is now 2/3 with series based on his works getting canned after 1 season. At least Ex Machina is getting made into a movie not a show.

 

Of course it’s gonna get cancelled when you don’t promote it at all Amazon. I literally saw it scrolling through and said “I didn’t know they were making this a show. When does it come out?” Only to find it was out already. Such a shame.
