  2. Listening to Fever for the first time in a long time. I still find it funny how many lyrics are just "shit we got nothing quote Palahniuk that's good make it sound good Urie."

If I’m being honest with myself sometimes I think in 2018 I enjoy Fever more than FUCT. But other times I don’t. They’re both classics for a reason.

  5. I haven't listened to either in a long time. Feel like a Panic! discog dive makes sense today.

Ahhh, the music scene of yesteryear.

I like Fever way more than any FOB album but Panic's just always fit my tastes a lot more.

Yeah, the exact type of people and comments Jason hopes for, to bury any opposing opinion on this site. It’s like clockwork.

Does anyone truly feel that Panic’s debut album sounded nearly as copycat and as alike to FoB, as every Pale Waves song has to The 1975? No, they don’t. The comparison is not nearly as similar. People are disliking Pale Waves sound because they’re similar to a fault, and they’re voicing their opinion on it on a music forum. This conversation was never meant to get carried to another thread, and it’s all due to a response I was giving to another user days ago in agreement with this criticism. But go ahead and keep controlling the narrative on this site for every band you like.

I’ve always felt like FOB are somehow the “better” band, maybe that’s not the right wording but they’ve been around longer, had more experience, mentored Panic!, and especially early on, they were flat out better musicians. That said, Panic always resonated with me more. I was an FOB fan first and it took me about a year to get into Fever but when it clicked, it really clicked. Also, shoutout to 11 year old me listening to Fever, haha

  9. Yes, lots of people did. For years it was a major, major, major talking point in this music scene. And it continued on virtually every single P! release. Including the last two (especially when they used the same producer as FOB right after SRAR), and including these new songs!

And people did the same with Panic/FOB. That happened. This is a fact.

    lol

  10. Than any? I'd say ... Folie > Fever and it's not that close.

What I'm hearing is Panic! at the Disco is an industry plant.

  12. I mean, this was five years ago:
The similarity of “Miss Jackson” to Fall Out Boy’s comeback sound is undeniable, but does it not solely exist because the two bands are friends. P!ATD decided to use Butch Walker as the producer for their newest album, Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die, to be released on October 8, 2013. Walker also happens to be the producer of FOB’s most recent album, Save Rock And Roll.

None of us are making this up! I ran the largest community of people talking about these bands during that era ... I saw it happen.

  13. Wait until you hear all the Paramore signing gossip.

Yeah that was so jarring, when Brendon led with this song off TWTL. It really did sound so much like SRAR. Although Miss Jackson isn’t really representative of the rest of that album’s sound to be fair.

Vegas Lights is such a jam, should’ve led with that one tbh

I simply refuse to entertain anything about Paramore that is even slightly less than positive.

Yeah, as much as I love half of Folie, I also don't really like half of it that much. FOB have always been a band that are very hit and miss for me, every album of theirs from Cork Tree on has songs I absolutely love, songs I dislike and then a lot of in between.

I’m asking now, not ten years ago. Your defense is to say “I ran a site where everyone that liked that band posted their opinion and it was unanimous.” No. You and users on your site might’ve felt that way, but that’s not the universal opinion. The reasoning that it was a smart business tactic for people like Creep Wentz is irrelevant to the point I made. Again, this came about because I said Pale Waves is completely uninspired and copying The 1975 to a fault. It was in agreement with another user too.

Still no one denies this criticism, just you and your buddies throwing condescending schoolyard insults at me because you feel the dire need to make a point that people compared one band to another 10 god damn years ago. Who gives a fuck? Does that change my opinion on Pale Waves? No it doesn’t. Do I think that it’s more ok now for bands to copy others because a bunch of bloggers couldn’t tell a difference between what was done on A Fever... and what FoB already had put out? No. Do I think that this is just what Pale Waves is doing now to get big off of The 1975’s sound and then will mature later/be original? No. Do I think anything more of any band copying another because the band they’re trying to emulate had a hand in it? Hell fucking no.

  24. Pulled in an old hard-drive with an old database on it ... let's take a look backward:

    "did patrick just clone himself"

"who was asking for another fall out boy"

"cashing in by just making exactly what's already selling is one thing to do i guess"

"putting a mandelon behind a patrick stump wannabe and selling it to neon teens"

"a disgrace to the name taken song"

    "from! under the cork tree"

"this is garbage and autotune sucks"

"fall out boy better be getting a big cut of these songs"

"pete wentz could sell you idiots anything"
