well i decided to check it out and this is the worst quality leak i've heard in some time so def don't download it

 

even though this leak sounds like it was recorded on someone's voice memos app while the album was playing in another room i can confirm "god killed rock and roll" is incredible yo

I could be wrong, but I don't think his vocals are tuned and that's what we are hearing.

"sad clown" goes full elo, i'm so fucking happy, best since vices easy, every song is a fucking firework of hooks, message to the haters: "middle of a breakup" is the worst song on the record

 

"do it to death" reminds me of aim & ignite :)

 

Oof, I just looked at some Instagram comments for the song/album. This is getting destroyed on a level I haven't seen in a while. Yeesh.

 

Tik tok is the same for it.

The reaction on all of their socials have been pretty negative after every song has been posted/promoted.

 

i think that's a shame bc this is an awesome album :(

 

lol at me going full joker for this album but ffs, there are so many great surprising melodic ideas in the back half of this

 

it is also v clear that mike viola was involved with the whole thing

I haven't listened to the vinyl rip that I saw out there, only heard the released songs. (And I think? he's singing out of tune, because it actively sounds off to me in a non-pleasant way.)

 

Feels phoned in imo. A couple gems but just meh over all.

Viva las Vegas - really enjoyed
Middle of a Breakup - swing and a miss, bad lyrics and meh all around
Local God - not bad, mostly forgettable though tbh
Don't Let the Light Go Out - I'm really liking this one, might be my favorite so far

I do agree the vocals are...I don't even know what the issue actually is. I don't think it's out of tune? But I'm not sure, certainly different than we are used to hearing from Brendon. Really does feel like he's trying too hard.
