Haven’t really been feeling any of these. Lyrically, they all just feel off.

 

This is definitely my favorite of the pre-release singles, but none of them have really grabbed me so far.

 

What has happened to his songwriting/structures? None of the choruses on these new singles sound like they go with the rest of the song

 

Better than the previous two songs but I'm not blown away. I can't believe that it comes out in a few weeks and there has been such a drop off in hype compared to his last album.

 

Just seems like he's singing way too hard in every song so far.

 

This too. Like we know you can sing man, you don't have to like shriek your way through every song now

 

This is my least favorite. The verse melody sounds like, musical theater?

 

These all sound the same.

And none of them are good.

 

Still loving the Elvis Costello vibes these songs are giving me. His vocals are out of tune in the first two singles released. Haven’t heard this new yet.

How does everyone feel about Vices & Virtues? Loved that album.

 

I like the instrumentals but the over singing and accent he puts on and off are not it.

Liked the first song a lot but these last two feel so off or disjointed, idk. Which sucks cause the musical direction feels like exactly what I want.

 

The title track is amazing, but these last two songs seem very similar. They are fine, but don't really do it for me.

 

Not even sure why I check these new ones out anymore. Truly bad.

 

Officially lost interest in the release. What a bummer. I'll give it a spin if the reviews get better, but not getting any hopes up.

 

Why is he pushing so hard on the verses

 

Yeah idk, chorus is cool but feels like a different song. Really like the title track but these last two aren't doing it for me.

 

I like the first song quite a bit, the second song wasn't very good, and this one is just ok. Still looking forward to what the rest of the album sounds like.,

 

The sentiment seems to be the same across all their social accounts. Nobody is loving these songs.

 

I know VLV is doing well on alt radio but his nonexistent promo for this album is weird. I assume it probably has to do with all the drama surrounding him but still.

I wonder if the OG line up will get back together at some point in the future. If there was a tour celebrating their first album I’d 100% be there.
