Hahaha the stock footage of the geyser made me laugh out loud. this album is gonna be strange! Definitely doesn’t feel like any of these will ever be in the setlist.
They roped in a second round of fans around 2014-15 and those fans are going to start to grow earlier and have more mature tastes. So I imagine PATD might see a slight dip on the next few albums and then there will be another nostalgia cycle.
These songs will 100% be in the setlist. They were doing 26-27 songs on their last arena run so I imagine there will be room for at least 4-5 new. I imagine they can fit in 5-6.
These songs sound pretty much par for the course as far as what Panic has sounded like since DOAB. And they're absolutely going to play songs from the Viva Las Vengeance album on the Viva Las Vengeance tour.
I mean...I guess you could say this for literally any other band in the world. That said, PATD kind of already beat this phase. Like, when they started out in 2006, they were enormous and playing amphitheater-sized venues and by 2011-2013, they were back down to playing HOB-sized venues and then got huge again. Their career has already gone up and down and up again. I'm sure they'll be fine.
I imagine they'll stay at arena/ampitheater level but tours won't be quite as in demand as the ones in 2015-19.
I liked the first single but this song sounds like a mess, there's basically no rhyme or reason to the chorus and how it's arranged. It also feels like he's waay oversinging on both of the songs so far, there's nothing wrong with him dialing it back a bit, it seems like he feels the need to constantly be like belting super high notes now
I just realized why the chorus to Middle of a Breakup seemed so familiar to me. I'm not saying it's a blatant ripoff or anything, but my brain kept going in the direction of this (arguably superior) chorus every time:
This song keeps me positive on the direction of the album, while not really liking this song at all lol
