Saw a gal on Hinge this morning who claimed that Ryan Ross should have been the lead singer of Panic! Thoughts?
I like his parts on “Northern Downpour,” but everything else is pretty bad. It’s like letting the guitarist in System of a Down do a song - No thanks, we’re good with the real lead.
Weird move to start an SOAD argument in the Panic thread, but I'm going to take the bait and say I could not disagree more. Besides the fact that Daron has always had at least some vocal presence in the band, the dichotomy between his vocals and Serj's on Mezmerize and Hypnotize is excellent.
Haha. I’m not trying to start an argument. I think both Ross and Daron work better as instrumentalists and back-up vocalists than lead. Daron’s stuff on both those albums are pretty weak. Same with Ryan on “Pretty Odd.”
