Top 10 songs, real quick: The Calendar Collar Full Nearly Witches Dying In LA Northern Downpour Memories Golden Days Far Too Young To Die When The Day Met The Night Mad As Rabbits
I will never get the hype for House of Memories. I’ve tried to like it many times and it doesn’t do anything for me. It’s as filler as The Good, the Bad, and the Dirty.
Still hoping out for a reunion with Ryan Ross someday. Panic! has always been at their most creative when they were actually a band. I understand that the big hits that he's been doing on the last two albums (prior to this one) have made Brendon a star to which pays the bills on a much bigger scale.
I don't think it will truly ever happen. He's been out of the band for nearly 3x longer than he was ever in it.
Vices & Virtues A Fever You Can't Sweat Out Death of a Bachelor Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! Pray for the Wicked Pretty. Odd. He’s been extremely consistent which is what makes the new release so odd. Hopefully it will be a grower
Yeah... unfortuently I have to agree with you there. It's a shame though on both the aspect of the what could be if he did return and also him actually getting back into music again. I still find it so strange that he's been quiet for almost a decade. Has he given up on music at this point? He definitely followed a similar path to Josh Farro from Paramore as being a primary songwriter for the band to basically leaving and doing nothing after (without all the controversy of Josh though).

On a positive side though, despite the oversinging, I think I WILL have fun with this album. I've wanted guitar-driven Panic since Vices & Virtues, because (hot take) that's my favorite Panic album. It came out at a time when I felt like the world was my oyster and usually subjectivity and nostalgia tend to take the place of objectively their best album (Fever) for me so Fever is a close second. Pretty Odd is definitely a close third though.
I actually do think there will be a “classic line-up” reunion at some point in the future after the hit machine shuts off for good.
I'd given an Oasis reunion better odds than a Panic reunion – and that's saying something. I don't think Brendon or Ryan have any interest in ever doing it again together.
Just seems like a silly thing to write-off when much stranger reunions have taken place, and there will always be a portion of the fan base pining for it.
Similar to Third Eye Blind there is just no fiscal reason for the original lineup to ever get back together under the band name. Brendon has taken the act to bigger heights since Ryan and Jon left so, outside of a small mid-00's enthusiasts, no one is really clamoring for the OG's to get back together.
I still think that'll happen but the window is rapidly closing (Oasis). I don't think they have enough draw in North America to make a big splash anymore but it would be a slam dunk in the UK/Europe.
