with each record being so different this band is extremely polarizing so it makes things interesting. vices is still my favorite and pftw hasn’t aged well with me so far.
Vices is such a catchy album from front to back. Fever never hooked me, and I'm sure that's an unpopular opinion. Pretty. Odd. got my attention. I appreciated it for what it was. V&V hooked me though. I just felt like the songwriting was very tight,.and I all of a sudden became very interested in what Panic would do from that point on. Those bonus tracks were something else too.
The bonus tracks were very good, even though I'm still annoyed about that era where there was like 4 different deluxe versions of a given album. Gonna go find them on the tube right now. It's been years and years since I've heard the ones that aren't on streaming
Re-visited the Young Veins album today for the first time in a while, it still sucks haha. It's like Ryan & Jon took all the best things about Pretty Odd and threw them in the trash, keeping only the vibes of that album with none of the talent or quality.
a couple vices b-sides are better than probably half the album which makes me upset they were left off, but i understand not fitting the theme
The only Vices b-side that I think is that great is Oh Glory. Definitely think that's better than a chunk of the album but the rest can stay b-sides.
Oh Glory is great and I also really love Bittersweet. I Wanna Be Free is good but I wouldn't take it over anything else on V&V. I can't remember Kaleidoscope Eyes or the other one right now despite listening to all the b-sides last night. I remember enjoying them but guess that proves they are also forgettable
Is it really necessary for a magazine to put on blast a guy that was in a band 15 years ago for gun/drug charges? Hope Panic's got some new stuff coming post-quarantine.
I legitimately forget that guy was even in this band. He was gone so quickly, and Jon Walker had already replaced him by the time I saw Panic! for the first time on their first headlining tour.
I've been thinking about this band recently....what the hell happened? I hope Brendon has been making a new record, but haven't heard a word from him in months (or years, it seems like). Did he really get "cancelled"?
I hope you're right. Weird that he's been off of social media completely, but maybe it was much needed for him.
