I have the mailing code for the 10:30 a.m. presale, but does anyone have the webstore presale code going on right now?
this is a much better and more fully realized version of what he was trying to do on Death of a Bachelor
This is definitely more consistent than DOAB, but it doesn't reach any of the same highs that DOAB reached IMO
I like a few songs on here about as much as the title track on that album which was easily my favourite on there. "(Fuck a) Silver Lining" is still probably my favourite on here. I think the only songs I don't love are "One of the Drunks" and "Old Fashioned" but even those are better than a good amount of DOAB imo.
Thanks man. Fighting through it as best I can. Hopefully the new meds kick in so I can listen and enjoy it because I’ve been emotionless.
I don't think I've ever listened to a full Panic album. But I'm enjoying this so far. Brendon reminds me of Patrick Stump a lot. So is this just a solo project now basically?
I’m really liking this. A part of me really misses when they would radically change styles up between albums, though. I guess it’s just different enough from DOAB to be refreshing but I suppose the songs on here are good enough that it doesn’t matter.
This is my favourite Panic! album since their debut. Say Amen, Hey Ma, High Hopes, and One of the Drunks are my favourites so far. Also I love the female speaking intro to The Overpass.
Roaring 20s is a jam. Dancing's not a crime is a REAL jam. The Overpass is very cool, nice sound. Old Fashioned is pretty good but I feel like it could have been better. King Of The Clouds is good, but probably one of my least favorites. Dying in LA is a really good song to end the album on though. And of course the singles are all really good too. Not sure if this is better than DOAB, I really loved that one front to back. Need to listen to this more to see.
Upon first listen - which is absolutely meaningless to gather up any thoughts because I'm certain my feelings will change - i like it, but don't love it. Yet. I have no doubt this will grow on me but it didn't hit me immediately as many of the other P!ATD albums. Early Favorites: Roaring 20s, One of the Drunks, King of the Clouds.
