Which reminds me of this fun mock video by Sum 41 when it seemed like every band was coming out with "The" as part of their name.
Yeah it has those mid 2000's Strokes style (and all those other bands folks referenced) indie rock meets-Panic vibes. Disparage those bands if you like, but that was the last time rock was really mainstream when you think about it. It's been dead (in that sense) for the last decade outside of a MGK or the occasional flash or one off hit.
Agreed with this take. It honestly feels like a modern Green Day song. Completely forgettable. And an oddly gory video to boot. Hopefully the rest of the album is more gripping. I really enjoyed Death of a Bachelor, and Pray for the Wicked had some good tracks too. I still think "Dying in LA" may be my favorite P!ATD song.
