Pancreatic Cancer

My father had been having stomach pains and loss of appetite since just before the holidays. He has gone in and out from his primary care, to the ER for the last few weeks. He had his MRI last night and the doctor called him today saying it may be pancreatic cancer and they'll be doing a biopsy Monday. I'm doing my best to read up and research on some of the stuff regarding it but if anyone has any helpful links or articles, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm going to his house shortly to talk with him face to face, I'm sure he's scared and doesn't know how to tell my mother. I know there's no easy thing to say to help someone feel better about this, but if anyone could offer some advice I would greatly appreciate that also.

I know it's against like all instincts in the internet age, but my advice would be to NOT look things up. It will psych you out. I think humans have this natural yearning to try to process by researching cause it gives a sense of control, but it can do more harm than good because it can take your mind to a very negative, worst case scenario place. Cancer and it's treatment are very scary and overwhelming. I would just take it one step at a time with the doctors. If it is cancer, unfortunately they will walk u thru everything u need to know and u will become an expert, or they will refer u to specialists who can. This feels kinda obvious and unhelpful but in my opinion taking it a step at a time a day at a time is most tolerable. I'm sorry your family is going thru this worry and I hope it all turns out okay
