Any time I dip into the talk around the band, I’m surprised to see people talk about various highs and lows. To me, they’ve been overall pretty consistent, with a core approach that hasn’t faltered. Every album has a very distinct sound and aesthetic so far, but it always ultimately “sounds like Pale Waves” (complimentary). Anyways. Yes, this is really good. Feels like the most “rainy day” album they’ve done; good bit of accidental synergy with the weather.
I think this is AOTY for me and it’s not even particularly close, which is crazy since they’ve never been an albums band for me before
Surprised about the lack of chatter around this because I think this is awesome. I loved the last record as well and this is an evolution and step up from the form they had there.
Miss America and Slow are probably both going to work their way pretty high into my most-played at the end of this year
Has “My Mind Makes Noises” been taken off Spotify altogether or just the Australian Spotify? Went to go revisit it just now and it’s unavailable.
Always love making-of album videos, that was great. Think it’s safe to say this is solidly AOTY for me at this point
Funny I have literally just started listening to the latest album this week for the first time, and it is quite a bit different from the pop punk approach of the last two albums before it. But I love Glasgow and Miss America
Haven’t listened in a minute, but the fall is somehow getting surprisingly close, so. Definitely gonna have more Pale Waves in rotation real soon.
