    Here for:
    - John Boyega
    - Charlie Day

    Not here for:
    - Scott Eastwood. Stop trying to make Scott Eastwood happen, Hollywood.

Very rad. The IMAX poster for the first one was sick too. The artist from Metal Gear Solid drew it.

Headed to the theater. As a fan of the first one I'm just hoping this isn't a total train wreck.

  16. Can you expand on this? Lol I don’t know whether to be excited or bummed

It took the premise and went more ridiculous. It was over the top and humorous. I just had a very fun time watching a movie that knew exactly what it wanted to be. Idk. When I have this much fun in a movie, usually it gets shit on all over the place.

I do think it handles diversity/representation extremely well and provides multiple different representation that are great to see (teenage girl as an engineer and hero, a scientist as a hero, etc), without it feeling like the whole point was to purposefully expand. It felt organic, oddly enough, in that regard?

  18. Gotcha. This is kinda what I was expecting from the trailers, but it’s nice to see that confirmed now. Sounds like I’ll enjoy this a lot!

My buddy and I burst out laughing in that like semi incredulous glee at the levels of ridiculous sometimes. We loved it :crylaugh:

I liked it. Didn’t love it. Obviously lacks the style of the first movie that Del Toro brought. But damn all I could think of was how charismatic John Boyega is. He can carry any movie.

This felt like it was written by a neural network had bonded with a Jaeger and written a screenplay in the best way possible
Boyega was great, the whole ice cream sundae sequence was great especially when he did the salt bae thing with the sprinkles
Amara was a great character too
It was weird seeing Charlie Day all stylish
I got a Cinemascore card and now I feel very influential

Yeah, honestly, really enjoyed this. I went to see it because I needed a big, loud, action movie and it absolutely filled that void for me. Idk if it's a film that I'll watch a million times but I had a great time seeing it on the big screen. I really love Charlie Day and John Boyega plus I felt like the younger cast of cadets were fantastic.

(Also there was someone taking demographic info at my theater so when I walked in I heard her say "oh thank god a woman!" which was kind of hilarious.)

Honestly it says so much about Boyega’s charm that he even made Scott Eastwood more than a pretty jaw line
