Darlene made this show enjoyable for me.

 

Like Frank Sr. Dying like that was pretty stupid though considering this is the same woman who shot your sons dick off with a shotgun. Why would you just stand there as she’s going behind a corner grabbing something?

 

Yeah much as I enjoy the show and the premise, you do get the feeling that the characters are just chess pawns, every few episodes gotta knock another one over in service of wherever the hell this plot is going

 

So what did the car crash in the first episode mean? Is that how it ends?

 

Since there's still 7 episodes left...guess we'll find out. Trying to be Breaking Bad it seems haha

 

Finally finished. Bad show. Glad it’s almost done.

I'd like to know what you really think about it though, is it bad? Does it need to end soon? Of all the shows you watch, where would you rank it?

 

I enjoy the characters a lot. There are some kind boggling lapses in logic.

 

I like Marty and Ruth. That’s about it.

 

Sarcastic Marty is the best.

Jason Bateman is just always good.

 

My gf and I came to the realization that he might be our favorite actor since we do love almost everything he’s done. With one notable exception on her part which borders on heresy and I try not to think about.

 

Biggest letdown for me with this series as it went on was how it just straight up neutered all the antagonists. Del was scary man, he was calmly sinister. Frank Cosgrove Sr went from being a decently intimidating mob boss to a guy doing oil changes and driving around in an old Buick. Omar Novarro doesn't seem to realize he is a cartel leader. Darlene is supposed to have been running a heroin operation for decades but is only ever portrayed as a batshit housewife

All of these people under normal circumstances would have put a bullet in Marty's head 10x over by now

 

What’s the release date for part 2?

I read they want to be part of the following year's Emmys so I would say June at the earliest...but easily could see this pushed to the Fall.

I'm assuming the series ends basically how it has to at this point - Ruth kills Marty

They've built up Ruth to be an equal protagonist to Marty, no way her redemption arc isn't seen through to the end

 

Huh. Just found out Ruth is married for Foster the People? I always say it to my friends but the secret world of celebrities and how they start dating always amazes me. Someone at work said there's a secret dating app exclusively for the wealthy and famous.
