There's no Owen thread so I'm making one, the guy has a brilliant back catalog and keeps rattling off great albums that you should be listening to. So here's every original album and a few essential tracks.

What is everyone's favorite Owen song or album?

Personally I think his strongest and most diverse album is L'Ami du Peuple, and as a standalone song my favorite is probably "Who Found Whose Hair In Whose Bed?".

my favorite album is probably At Home With, if i had to pick one.

At Home With Owen features some of his better tracks (Pietro Crespi, A Bird In Hand, Use Your Words) but it's never seemed substantial enough to me to be his best.

 

"At Home with Owen" is one of my favourite albums ever. His last album didn't do much for me tho.

 

Just stumbled on this video on YouTube. Looks like it was posted in March. It's from a house show he played in 2001.

setlist:

I think L'Ami Du Peuple is his best, but I find myself going back to the King of Why's a lot lately.

I talked to Mike at the American Football show a couple nights ago, and I asked him about new Owen stuff. He said the plan is to go in the studio with S. Carey again this fall.

 

As per Mike's instagram, KC Dalager from Now Now will be doing vocals on the next Owen album

Given how incredible the female guest spots on American Football LP3 were, that's pretty neato

 

I’m stoked there’s new Owen material coming relatively soon.

 

New Owen album is coming in March or May (Mike told me the month I just can't remember haha).

Last album he expanded it from essentially a solo work to a full studio band effort with a lot of great collaborators, I hope he continues the trend especially with vocals

You just know KC Dalager's voice is going to mesh perfectly

 

Mike said in the American Football Stay Home 2020 edition premiere chat new Owen coming soon. I bet it's coming next month, since he told me it was coming in a month that started with M, and March has already passed (although things could have changed with Covid-19).
