You're not wrong, but AF albums tend to be pretty lushly produced as it is. We're only two albums deep with Owen fleshing out his sound and frankly I can't get enough of that lap steel I always wonder, with someone who writes as minimally as Mike does, how does Sean Carey flesh out his sound so well? Does he get writing credit for adding basically every other instrumental part to the equation? How do you take a Mike Kinsella acoustic guitar track and end up with a masterpiece like "The Contours"?
Has anyone signed up for Mike's Patreon? Is it worth getting the "Fuck" package? Mike Kinsella is creating awkwardness, I'd imagine. | Patreon
I wanted to sign up because he played The Avalanche front to back on it last weekend, does anyone know if that's still available if I sign up now?
I had signed up for the lowest tier and while the meeting was only available for the highest tier, there is actually a recording he posted that all the tiers can view. However Mike's mic audio quality was pretty bad since I guess he's still learning how to better set things up and people on Zoom do not know how to mute when he is playing, so most of the time it just cuts to their camera instead of focusing on Mike. Also he got way too drunk to finish out the whole album and stopped at Mom and Dead.
