omg i fucking hate Lokis in that game lol. yeah im hoping thats what they go for. But who knows, i wouldnt be at all surprised if she has some kind of weak ranged weapon and then a knife to do backstabs with.
Ranked play in this game is a total mess. Matchmaking is horrific, 10 placement matches is too many, and if you don't have a Zarya you lose.
I actually played D.Va last night and forgot how much I loved her. Still need to get that quad kill with the mech though :(
I actually like the 10 placement matches since it basically lines up with every other game having the same requirement. I don't think you really need a Zarya every game because I've been on a few teams where we didn't have her. If you at least stick to 2 tanks / 1 Lucio / 3 offensive character, I have had some success.
oh yeah 2 supports / 2 tanks / 2 offense is the meta but sometimes you can still cheat the meta if you have a really good team. I do get a little annoyed when I see using people play defense characters but eh it's their choice.
He might be the most map specific player. Any map with lots of choke points or like lijiang tower he's a nightmare.
Had a guy who went mcree on defense and then offensive widow. He wasn't particularly good with either. We ended up shouting it out at the end of the match. Don't got time for that kind of nonsense.
I don't play Mccree on defense at all. He is strictly offense for me. I think my all around characters are Genji, Reaper, Solider 76, Reinhardt, Zarya, Lucio and Zenyatta.
Feel like competitive scoring is better. Like, I'm over fifty percent wins and I'm progressing up in score. Last season if I was at fifty percent wins I was definitely losing ranks.
I get offensive widow on some of the capture the point maps since the defensive spawn is so far back, if you can take a defender out quickly you can really get an early advantage. Definitely not on the second points though
Zarya destroys everybody. They need to have more harsh penalties in place for people who leave. Had a game yesterday where two left our team and we got trampled, then later the other team had 3 who left at the start of round 2, by mid way through there was just one guy against us 6. Felt bad for him.
Zarya is devastating, but Reaper absolutely destroys her every time. I sometimes forget how he really is the most anti-tank character in the game. (well, him and a well placed Bastion)
On the subject of Zarya, I had to get a video of this push last night. Was playing with a few friends and we were doing a Zarya/Reinhardt/Zenyatta combo and at points in this video I clearly don't know where to look because of all the shit going on around me. Some of the most fun I've had playing this game by far. Apologies for the potato quality, I couldn't find a USB drive last night and resorted to using my phone :p
I wish it was easier to tell how much rank you gain/lose at the end of the match. I feel like sometimes now you don't even see it go up or down, it just displays the new score. Needs the bar again or at least a +/- display.
Okay guys, what the hell? Did my placement matches for ranked the other day, got a score of about 2560 or so. Since then, I have not won one single ranked match. Every game is so one sided it hurts. We just get destroyed. What gives? It's actually starting to ruin the fun of the game a little bit. Is it just bad luck?
I had that experience for my placement matches. Every team we faced trashed us, ended up losing 8 and winning 2, got put in silver. Our games got significantly easier and I'm now on the cusp of entering platinum. I was about ready to quit during the placements. I'm talking we were losing inside of 2-3 minutes and getting no medals. Question: is it possible to go up ranks if you lose the match but play really well? I feel like if perform really well but lose overall I shouldn't lose many ranks.
