My team 1 won round, lost the second and then immediately quit. Now it's just me waiting out the rest of the match. I fucking hate everything. Sigh. Fitting last placement match,.
There absolutely needs to be a better system for rage quitters in competitive. A big thing they need to figure out is who's rage quitting and who are getting dced. Punishing a guy with bad internet isn't exactly fair.
I only get frustrated when I'll wait between like 2-4 minutes for a competitive match. I find a match and select my hero and then right as the game is about to start someone from one of the teams leave so womp no game.. It's like you possibly wait a few minutes to get into a game and you are going to leave right before it even starts? That doesn't make any sense.
That scenario makes me think it's a DC issue and blizzard does it right by just canceling the match, nothing gained or lost. Though a four minute wait time is nuts. It'll get better as more people come into competitive. Max I've waited was two mins.
this was in a Esports Overwatch tournament and the tournament decided to do no hero limit due to the pros wanting it. This hero stacking has got the whole esport community talking because every tournament is different with how many heroes can stack or not sfack.
I'm conflicted when it comes to stacking in competitive/esports for OVerwatch. Do lean more towards no stacking generally. In quick match, stacking is fine, though more than one Torbjorn is shit (looking at you Dirty).
My thoughts on leaving in competitive, since blizzard already addressed the feedback about sudden death, the coin flip, and the KOTH error: - When 3 or more leave, give us an option to vote for a surrender (like in LOL or SMITE) , esp since new players obviously can't join, and they won't be replaced by strong AI (this is what happens in HOTS) -Enticing players to leave is bad. Someone has left, so if you leave in one minute you won't be penalized! Yeah no. Don't give anyone a reason to. This has led to the domino effect SO often now. EG: I was just playing 2 v 6 cause 4 left. One slowly after the other. Obviously we lost. We couldn't even get out of the base. Repeat offenders being banned for the season is great, but the previous two issues have to be addressed or competitive will not work. It's too unfair and frustrating.
Yeah, it sucks when it happens. There should be something for players that stick out the match, even when their teammates bail. Because sticking them with a loss and a certain drop in rankings is really shitty. Makes me not want to play competitive at all. (that and I'm not fond of the sudden death either, for teams stuck with attacking, they are almost guaranteed a loss.)
I played a game against 3 zarya's last night and yes it was as annoying as it sounded. Every time I almost froze a Zarya with Mei, there would be a shield up and it just stopped. But, I am enjoying Mei so much recently, she's just so annoying to play against.
I love playing as Mei. I had multiple games yesterday where I finished with 30+ kills, including one of 46 with her. Overall yesterday was pretty successful. Was having a bad run that dropped me away from 50%. Now I'm super close. Really just want to hit 50%; pretty much always hover at 49.5%.
Generally right now the stacking depends on the group running the tournament. The most common tournaments typically include no stacking at all rules but then that becomes a problem because most teams pick the same basic comp of Lucio/Mercy/Zarya/Winston/Pharah/Solider so it's hard to really discuss it. meanwhile if they allow stacking then most teams run ether like numerous tracers and Lucio or a combination of tracer/Lucio/Winston/mercy.
Interesting. I don't follow esports at all so it's cool to learn what people have already settled on. I'm not too surprised they lean towards one basic team strategy. Learn which one tends to be the most efficient and then go with it forever. Boring, but they are trying to win.
Yup. They basically have clinged on to all the "mobile" heroes due to how fast they need to be to get to the objective. It sucks though because then you start seeing both teams have same comp so it's hard to try and even commentate on that which upsets the commentators/fans.
Mei is bae, I'm at a 63% win rate with her. Using her wall to its fullest separates (pun unintended) the good Meis from the bad Meis
Nice. I have a 58% (my highest is 66% with Lucio) win rate with Mei. Yeah, using her wall to cut off the enemy advance or from escape is super satisfying. I also really love dueling with snipers and winning that battle. Edit: do have to fight my inner asshole (or not so inner in likelihood) when playing with friends and using the wall to fuck with them in battle.
Well now I have to. Right in front of your Torbjorn turrets every time. What's that, someone's in our point? Don't care, keeping you annoyed is my new goal.
I've had some really solid instances of sequestering off D.Va and Tracer ults with Mei's wall Similarly, some times where I trap myself on the same side of that wall
Honestly enjoying OW less and less every day. Competitive had the opposite effect that I was hoping it would, it kinda negates everything I love about OW (short games, no one takes it very seriously, etc).
I'm still enjoying it a lot, but find myself not too interested in competitive at the moment. Actually like quick match even more after playing some competitive.
How I feel as well. I wish people had the desire to win in a fun way instead of just wanting to fuck around or just wanting to win in some cheap way. I'd love to see genuine even matches happen.
I think season two will have a lot of improvements and we'll get a much better player pool. I played some quick match the other night and I definitely find it refreshing.
