Loot boxes were horrible for most but I liked them. Played since beta and never put a single penny extra into the game, yet have pretty much every cosmetic and every hero in the game.
Amazing how blizzard managed to take all of the momentum from the launch of OWL and burn this game into the ground. So much wasted potential on something that should have been so simple to manage.
Lot of new info here. Heroes unlocking on level 55 of the battle pass is some bullshit (over half way through). And Blizzards justification that the game has evolved and doesn't require switching to counters anymore feels like a misunderstanding of what made the original great.
I guess the one positive of f2p is that I can satisfy my curiosity and check out the new character without rewarding blizzard with money for fucking up the game…
Just played my final game of Overwatch 1 before it gets shut off for good. It was my first game in 5 years according to Overbuff. Can't believe it had been that long since I last played. Anyway, chose to go as D.Va on Hollywood and it was a rout for the oppositionI did get two kills on my self-destruct to help get us past the first point though, so I'll mark that down as a minor victory. Personally very excited for tomorrow to properly step back into the Overwatch world. I feel like there are a lot of new characters waiting for me too seeing as Doomfist was the last hero I saw released during the time I played.
Thought the servers would be up till midnight tonight, some friends and I were going to play for the last time and we missed it. Bummer. I disagree with virtually every change they’ve made for OW2. OW1 was the go to game for our group of 6 to play. Really bummed that we can’t even play it as a full group anymore
Yeah the fact they've just killed the old game entirely surprised me. I get why they wouldn't want the playerbase divided between 2 games, but I really feel for people like yourself who have been playing as a team of 6 for years. It's such a huge shift. What happens with things like the Overwatch League? Do they literally just drop a team member from the roster now? If so, that is brutal. I didn't play the OW2 beta at all so not even sure how the 5v5 feels. It's definitely going to be weird seeing only 1 Tank per team. I think I'm mostly excited from a crossplay POV as I'm the only Xbox player in my whole group of friends so will finally get to play something other than Warzone with my PS5 buddies. I hope you and your friends manage to find some way to enjoy OW2.
OWL has been a failure and they’re gonna need to do a hard reset of it completely if they want it to be successful. I’m just excited because we’re hopefully gonna be actual updates to the game. As much as I loved OW1, the last few years had been miserable for incentivising people to come back to the game as there wasn’t any meaningful updates for about 2 years. They released maps for deathmatch and that was about it. Also hoping there to be some new events instead of recycling the same old ones year after year. No double shield and one tank with it being 5v5 will definitely make this a much faster paced game now.
Wow, Stylosa has calmed down a lot. I remember watching a lot of his videos when I used to play but his frenetic energy used to drive me up the wall Great content maker though. Will likely dip into his videos for some of these newer heroes.
He can still be like that haha. I think he just wanted to take it more seriously because these are some peoples’ livelihoods that've been affected by just how poor the league has been. He’s definitely one of the few overwatch content creators i’ll watch though. He can definitely be grating at times but I put that down to him being really passionate about the game.
it was stuck at 7% for hours, I paused it and when I resumed it started back at 0% and downloading extremely slow
Not sure why it's telling me I haven't already purchased the Watchpoint bundle. Hopefully when I get into the game all that stuff is there
