Missed the matches yesterday but somehow NYXL losing a playoff game to Shanghai is both shocking and not surprising at all.
Shanghai is not the same team of the first two seasons. They're def better at goats than they were dive or dps
Oh I definitely agree, just weird adjustment to see them go from winless season to beating the former best team in a playoff game
Yesterday, they barely played GOATS against NXYL who almost exclusively used the comp. DDing and Diem were dominating them on dps.
Ugh ya watching the highlights it's like nyxl is constantly a half step behind with what's next in the meta. Feel like they got crushed with sombra so they focused on learning that then they couldn't counter pharmercy. Feel bad for Mano, dude is the new mvp on xl over jjonak
I know people are always saying overwatch league is dead and the viewers aren’t there but it’s kinda nuts to see which corporate sponsors they have. They have that Disney lowkey deal, Kit Kat, Toyota, HP and Coca Cola and a few more.
Diem and Youngjin were great. Dang. (Are any of these dragons from the team that didn't win a series last year, lol?)
No, almost a completely new squad to OWL. Luffy, Coma, Dding, and Youngjin were all from Kongdoo Panthera. Diem from Lucky Future and Gamsu was acquired from Boston earlier this year.
Yeah, I didn't think so. I haven't been watching the OWL as much this season, but I never seen Geguri get play time anymore. I find that to be a bummer. Did find the announcers making a big deal of them winning a stage playoffs feel a little flat. It's not like the team turned it around. It's pretty much a new team, as far as I'm concerned.
While that's true it's still a success for the franchise. This is the case in any sport. They changed what needed to be changed and now they're champs.
Yeah. Like I get that. But I rarely feel like a team pretty much gets 100% redone. So I have mixed feelings about it.
