Love that ESPN will air competitive gaming but the nhl refuses to work out a contract with them. I streamed the game on ESPN3 tonight, it was dope.
It feels odd to me that they feel every single character needs a tweak or even a complete redesign. It might be right, but it feels excessive. Apparently there are going to be around 9 characters getting changes in the PTR. You can tell they are scrambling to get stuff in before the next season.
I know that Hammond is a big reason around certain character reworks, because they have to anticipate ways to balance the game with his inclusion. Also, the change to Mercy makes sense because she shouldn’t be able to just pocket someone and negate any damage done by Winston on that target. Like, obviously it can be worked around, but I feel like it’s a positive change. I like that they routinely change little things because it reminds me that devs are invested in this game and want to see it continue to grow. Even the big changes to Sym haven’t bothered me because I don’t play her, but, like the announced Torb changes, these are/have been done so that they aren’t seen as obvious throwing characters. However, I also have like a 70% win rate with Zen so I would hope they don’t mess with him at all lol
I feel like they gotta constantly make changes just because how little characters there are compared to other I guess not rightfully compare but MOBA's and how many they have.
I also think these changes are made to discourage one-tricking, because if a new set of heroes become meta, you may have to learn someone new. It constantly encourages innovation and new strategy imo.
