Overwatch: Blizzard answers the big questions Some great stuff on competitive mode, balances for heroes and also hints at new heroes and maps.
I'm still having a lot of fun with the game, but I don't get to play nearly as much as I want to. It's just not nearly as fun by myself and almost all of my friends are at work all day. Then they all get home the second I'm leaving for work. Sucks.
i'm glad it's not f2p and i would have hated having to unlock the characters. it just wouldn't work for this game
Playing with randos is my only beef with the game but I knew that going in. Has anyone noticed slower join times recently? If I leave a game, I know it'll take me like two minutes to join another team. Wonder if it's a PC only thing...or just me lol.
Yeah my wait times are usually 10-30 seconds. Yeah the random teams is a real killer, people just don't want to play it for what it is and instead treat it like a generic FPS. I very rarely lose a game where I felt the other team were just too good. It's almost always because my team just want those Ssiiiiccckkkk snipezzz! I'm adding everyone here from the PC list, so if we're ever on at the same time I will always play with people who I know play properly. Can't always use mic though.
Do you get penalized for leaving too many games? Cause I leave a ton and it just gave me a message saying I'm close to receiving a penalty.
Yup. The penalty is terrible when it gives a -75% on any exp earned in a game and it lasted at least like 5 or 6 matches for me. I only left games at the end of it showed how much exp you earned and I still got it.
wow that's really really annoying. Come up with a better pairing algorithm or something, then I won't leave matches where 4 people want to be genji.
they can't control if players are idiots, when i get matched with those players i play a character I'm bad with and try to get better
But they have the info on what players tend to pick what characters. I mean, this info is nearly publicly available: Master Overwatch — Heroes Bah, sorry, just upset getting that message after a string of losses. I'm fasting today and I can feel my blood sugar dropping haha. I'll play again after sundown.
I really need to get out of my comfort zone and learn to play support. For the same reason, so few people want to do it but you can't win without.
I refused to play support in the beta and now all I can play is support just because of how little people play them. I actually really enjoy playing Mercy and it feels good getting that crucial revive.
my co-worker has been bugging me to play with him and I'm nervous because I don't want to look bad playing with him. His main in Genji also so I'd probably Mercy it. I've been playing decent with Lightning so I think I could probably play with my co-worker.
I do have fun playing as Lucio. I suck as the others though. But Lucio rarely gets a POTG and I'm seeing others have so much fun getting triple and quad kills while I'm just at the back passive healing. Us supports are the unsung heroes here. Also on a separate note, Jim Sterling just uploaded a great video on the microtransactions which hits on the problems I had with it. He and Totalbiscuit have had a little back and forth because TB has no issue whatsoever but Jim does. I agree with Jim, that they don't bother me per se but they feel like a shortcut in a game that is 100% about cosmetic progression. They are obviously optional and give no advantage, but progression is extremely slow and grindy without them. Both vids are worth checking out, some good points made both ends.
I got yelled at for picking mercy despite the fact I picked mercy before the other person did. A few minutes later the person switched off mercy and sent a message to everyone saying "we need a healer" I got a little irritated.
This weekly brawl where you change heroes every time you die is amazing. This is a great way to really try out everyone.
hope @scott liked my POTG where i drove a riptire appx. 3ft into 2(?) Mercy and then turned around and killed a Reinhardt with a grenade at point blank that also killed me
