Horizon needs taking out of rotation until the Bastion in the wall at Point A glitch is patched. Lost two games now because of people exploiting it in Comp. Beyond a joke.
Interesting. Haven't heard about that glitch, though I haven't played much OW since Destiny was released. What's the glitch, exactly?
No idea how it works, but basically an attacking Bastion (not sure if it works with other heroes, I've only ever seen it with them) can get into the wall above Point A on Horizon. They cannot be shot, so just go into turret mode and make it impossible to defend the point as they just wreck anyone on there.
Oh wow. That's an incredibly shitty thing to exploit. I wonder how long the glitch has been part of the map before it was discovered. I may just avoid comp until I hear that gets fixed. Thankfully I don't often get Horizon on comp, but I'm sure I would now that I'm aware of this glitch.
I'm on a bad run at the minute and have fallen like 300 SR. I think the worst thing about the game is people giving up after losing a round. Say it's 3-0 after round one, suddenly your team is attacking with a Hanzo, Widowmaker, Ana and Torb. It'd be a football team giving up at half time cause they're 1-0 down. It just makes no sense, and then becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
I've never been a video game person but I started playing this with my SO and I have to say I'm a little obsessed. This thread made me happy but there's no way I'm going through 200 pages haha so I guess I'll just keep up from here on out. I have only been playing for...less than a month now. It took a few weeks to get my first win and when I did I also got POTG......I may have cried hahah and for what it's worth I'm a junkrat main and pretty trash on everyone else haha
welcome! I think for the first few months I would always lock junk or soldier. After a while I realized I was a much better support and guess what, no one wants to support so it worked out haha. The learning curve on this game is pretty good so if you're not a gamer (like me) this is a great way to get into it. This is literally the only game I play and I still enjoy it for the most part after a year plus. advice: have fun with it, don't take toxicity to heart, be willing to try new players out in deathmatch before you do quick play and definitely before competitive. I was also a big fan of the AI practice games just to get your bearings down. Are you on PC or console? We've got a great community hear on both platforms and would be down que up any time.
ahhhh this is so exciting! I actually like being support but I suck at it so far haha. Thanks for the solid advice! Only my SO owns the game so I play on his account, so I don't do any competitive or anything. I have only played Quickplay so far. I want to experiment with a lot more heroes (hmm not sure they are called that in this game, just what SO and I call them) but then I'm not good and it frustrates me haha. I play on the PC. I actually use an xbox 360 controller, but yeah its on the pc. I'd love to play with whoever in here also has it! But be nice because I'm verrrry much a beginner.
you can try soldier, lucio, and reaper. very noob friendly! after that, you can try D. Va and Mercy. i also use a controller on the pc so it's totally ok.
Not sure whether my team mates are terrible, or whether I've just lost all ability to be an effective support...
soldier is boring to me. I'm really terrible at lucio lol and I haven't really played as reaper so I'll give that a shot. I like playing Mercy I'm not that good at her but better than my lucio lol but thanks! I appreciate all the suggestions :) I also wish I was playing on my own account so that stats like the pic above could be useful. Since we share an account tho that's unlikely to ever happen.
I'd definitely try out Zenyatta as well. As long as you hang back a little bit due to low HP, make sure your healing orb is always on a teammate, and that your discord orb is always on an enemy (try and target the enemy healer), then you should be fine. Junkrat is quite a good pick at the minute too, let's you do a lot of damage very quickly, so can often bail yourself out I find. Mercy is a really good pick as well, definitely who I'm best as. Should warn you there's some pretty major changes to how she works coming through soon, so you'll likely have to readapt to her after that.
I play Z sometimes, he's probably the one I play most besides Junker. I'm not great at him but trying! what changes are coming to mercy?
So her Ultimate is getting changed. You know at the minute you can wait and rez like 5 people at once? Her rez getting changed to being an ability with a cooldown (30 seconds I think) but she can only rez only one person at a time. Her Ultimate is being changed so she can fly freely and have unlimited ammo for a short period, or output massive healing for the same period. I've probably explained that really badly haha.
