Zarya buff - can't move out of gravity ball no matter than right? Does it affect Reaper? I managed to wraith out of it earlier after the patch...

 

Wraith might not apply I guess. Does his teleport work when bubbled? Curious to test this out tonight

 

I am not good with Doomfist at all, and he's super easy to kill when against him.

 

I had a dude who was killing it as Rein, pushing forward with me as Doomfist. Moving up then i'd pounce through the shield and do the jump smash punch (whatever it's called), to uppercut. to charge punch, to dead.

I'm absolutely useless as Doomfist too. Doesn't help that we can only play in quickplay and nobody seems to go tank or support in that mode. Suffering from the same issue as when I want to practice as Orisa. Both just get decimated with a poor team comp :(

 

Yeah, unfortunately, I think I'm just going to have to give it a few weeks till I can practice. Done the same with Sombra and Orisa - basically only started using them seriously in comp a few weeks ago.

My plan is to wait for the hype to die down, practice in QuickPay and arcade for a few weeks, then start thinking about comp and how he might work there. Don't think he'll ever be a go to for me tho, in the same way Genji and D.Va aren't - just don't think I'll ever be good enough to the point where he would be a better choice than 7 or 8 other heroes.

 

That's exactly what I'm doing, I did the same with orisa and sombra.

Separate news but I am so freaking close to getting back into plat. I was in the 2100s just last week and then I just decided to go back to doing what I'm good at, being a Lucio main, and I got to 2460 last night. Fingers crossed for today!

I might dive back into comp this weekend, taken a decent enough break. Played more of Doomfist last night. I did better, but just don't feel he's right for me.

 

Took me a while to get him. About two or three matches in his elimination mode it clicked. Now I'm good, but his ultimate is only good when there is an open area/objective.

I got super aggressive and now I know why I don't play.

also screw reaper. He shreds all the tanks and it sucks now.

 

Doomfist challenge has by far been the easiest way to earn the arcade loot boxes. Getting all three only took like an hour. The wins are easy to come by there.

Overall, I like him. He's not someone I can see myself using all the time.

 

honestly screw this game forever.

I know I'm not the best player but it's so hard to even grind up in ranked when no one is trying in the lower levels.

I had a guy who insta locked hanzo both offense and defense and would never change. I try to stick to the meta to help my team but no one plays the meta to even advance. It's just frustrating and this game has been terrible to play for me.

this is just me complaining so pls ignore me because all I speak is dumb stuff.

 

second game had the other team having two diamond players when I'm in gold right now. This is bullshit and I'm quitting.

Perhaps that person is only good with Hanzo? It sucks, but sometimes you just have to work around the characters others select. And I've come across amazing Hanzos in comp. Just ignore the meta, any team comp (within reason) can work and at gold, no one should be worried about the meta. (The current meta is definitely why competitive kind of sucks right now though.)

Maybe just take a break from the game? Sometimes that can work miracles in how you feel toward a game when you return.

I haven't been feeling comp myself this season, did play 1 game but then OW took away my SR since I hadn't played enough comp so decay hit me immediately, lol. That said, I have been having fun just playing QP with friends.

 

I had just finished like a three week break and it still just wasn't fun to me anymore.

How is your win rate with Orisa? I'm scared to run with her while I'm still chasing platinum, but I really want to start using her soon. She is an absolute beast on Lighthouse and Well on Ilios so I play her every time on those maps. I need to try her on a few more maps, but I may wait til I get myself to the end of that damn long road to platinum.

 

Just checked, and I'm at a 44.4% winrate with her in Comp. Honestly, I think her utility has a lot to do with team comp. I'll generally do quite well if I've got a decent amount of heals on the team, definitely another tank, and definitely some sort of flanker to take the heat off her shield ability. She's one of those heroes that I'll switch to half way through a game, maybe if I've previously been Rein and think we need some more sustained damage, or Zarya and think we need a bit more range to out attacks.

 

A friend I play with mains Orisa, and our team is usually at our best when he does. She can be super helpful with good healing and DPS. And her ult is sooooo helpful for capping/holding a point or making a push.

 

Man getting chewed out on comp for not having my sym tp up fast enough is so frustrating.

Like, don't push up through the choke and get picked off a minute in. Jesus.

Actually played a few games of comp tonight. Went 3-1-1. The only loss was to a six stack.
The last game was the shittiest though. It was KOTH and this one guy took exception to my friend playing attack Symmetra and started throwing. Like killing himself and not going to the point. We were down 2-0 and had resigned ourselves to the loss when we managed to get the point. The guy took notice and immediately swapped to genji and we reversed swept. Fucking obnoxious, but a win is a win.
