In line to try out Sombra right now, will post my thoughts after

 

So I got PotG as Sombra, guess you could say I picked her up pretty fast :D I really, really like her - she feels good and fluid as a character, her kit works really well together and you do feel like a "hacker" while playing her. Her voice lines are cool too so overall I give her flavor an A.

As for gameplay itself, I find her the perfect mix of Tracer and Mei which might be why I got used to her so easily. She has a lot of mobility and her telecube can be used so many creative ways, I think I ended up using it more as an escape than as an engage. Like I'd hack a health pack station and throw a cube on it, go out and engage and tele back when I got low. Zarya also used her ult so I threw out my cube, ported in mid-air and stealthed before I hit the ground, and got away. Stealth is not as powerful as you think it is because any good player will be able to predict where you're heading and detect you before you get full use out of it. I honestly felt like her trait didn't get much use because I know where all of the health packs are anyway from my hours of Tracer play, so I knew where they'd head anyway.

All in all I feel like she's really appropriately balanced, and she'll definitely shake up the meta a bit - she really wrecks Rein and Lucio who are staples so we'll see what effect she has. As for her ult I feel like it only reaches its full potential with a coordinated team, I'll probably still play Tracer more as a mobile engager because I can do more with her ult since it actually does damage.

Edit: Also her poke is amazing with how many clips she has for her ammo

 

Excited to give her a try, but it'll still be a wait for me over on consoles...

South Korea was dominant in their finals match. Just wrecked Russia.

 

Holy shit South Korea is just on a totally different level from anyone else

 

It was kind of a bummer since it was just them steamrolling Russia. No real competition between the two.

 

I didn't catch too much of the World Cup. Was anyone able to get any sort of momentum going against South Korea?

 

From what I remember, since I only saw a couple of their matches, it was a clean sweep of the whole thing, from start to finish.

 

I'm having the worst luck with Tracer. Gold in elims and objective kills and we still lost. A bad team's a bad team.

Also, FUCK ROADHOG. He's in every game I'm using as a Tracer practice match. ugh.

 

It's pretty easy to dodge Roadhog'a hook if you can see him, they telegraph it every time. It's the stealth Roadhogs that get you from behind -_-

 

Just Pharah-ulted the second point on Anubis for the win only almost three minutes into the match. Symmetra x4 troll team got REKT.

3+ Meis is ult troll. And super shit for those you're against. Unless they join in.

 

It's so much fun to box players in with ice wall.

 

Yeah. Agreed. Especially when they try to back up and escape and have nowhere to turn but back into your ice blast.

 

If you want to make life hell for a Mei, just play Pharah

 

Or Mcree. Least for me. I have the most success then.

 

I love playing Pharah, but I can't say that I'm good enough with her to be very effective.

TIL: I can be standing in the middle of the point and somehow overtime won't trigger. So that was fun.

 

I don't know if this applies to you, but I wonder if being in the air has anything to do with it. I think if, for example, you're Pharah ulting directly above the point, or you're just jumping onto it at the very last second, OT will still run out.

 

I was Zarya, so I was firmly on the ground haha. And it wasn't like a repeated OT where it becomes harder to keep it from running out, it was me initiating OT. My team wasn't going to win, so I'm not super cranky, just amused/in disbelief how far I was into the point when the timer hit zero.
