My mains are Tracer, D-Va, and Widowmaker (and currently getting used to Ana). I'm not very good at this game, but am very interested in getting better. Any recommendations for playing these characters at their best? (outside of practice, practice, practice, of course)
Tempted to buy this game for my brother for his bday, for myself, and get my other friends on it for PS4 cause no one I know plays on PC anymore. New game mode is cool. You really need to use some teamwork. Took a few tries to beat medium, I can't even imagine hard..
With Tracer it really is all practice. Learning to maneuver the character well, learning to pace your dashes and coordinate Recall with your limitations of health. Also learning to coordinate both Recall and your dashes to allow yourself greater distances of travel. As far as D. Va goes, Defense Matrix is key. Learning which enemies it can be crucial against (Bastion, etc) and learning which ultimates it can block (McCree, Bastion, Reaper, Soldier, Roadhog, and if timed perfectly Hanzo, among others) can be key to helping your party win. Using your ultimate in different situations, whether to try and wipe a party or to buy yourself time/another suit when you're low on health and need to stay on the point, is crucial. Ultimately the one thing to learn (with any character) is how to properly coordinate ultimate attacks. Example, if you're Tracer and a Zarya in your party says she's got an ultimate ready, wait for her Graviton Surge to pull everyone in before using Pulse Bomb on the biggest one. This will result in a multikill opposed to just one you would've gotten otherwise. If you hear a Bastion using his ultimate, use your speed and get a Pulse Bomb on him to wipe him out and protect the party. If you're D. Va and you see your party's Mei is using an ultimate, it's the perfect opportunity to self-destruct in the middle of their entire party. Coordination is key, and knowing how each character can coordinate with one another will make not only yourself but your whole party better. I'm sure you've heard all that before but figured I'd give my $0.02
One thing I like about this game is how ults are treated with the gravitas they deserve. An ult can completely determine a real fight or help snowball an offense/fortify a defense.
I'm at exactly 2000 and don't know if I should ever play competitive again or just leave it at that perfectly even number I only tried playing it once after reaching 2000 and got a draw so it stayed
I get paid today so that means Halloween loot boxes which means I'll probably be sorely disappointed here in a couple hours when I don't get the Reinhardt or Junkrat skins
Actually all of this is fantastic information, especially the D.Va points. I was almost never using Defense Matrix and now feel like a double scrub. Thank you for these "major keys" lol
my ranked win streak dies at 6 thanks to a Mercy that had the most clutch ults ever. my goodness were they great.
sprung for 24 loot boxes and didn't get Mercy's skin :/ Junkenstein and Pumpkin Reaper were nice consolation prizes though
Game Clip: Overwatch: Origins Edition I'm so proud of this play just because this was one of the last final pushes from the other team and I helped shut them down hard.
I was so ready to grind until Nov 1 before buying loot boxes last minute, but these past few days I've gotten so tired of being in the unpleasant mindset of playing just to level up just to get another loot box just to be disappointed ad infinitum that I wanted to get back to playing just to play and actually enjoying the game. And, I'm behind on other things I wanted to play, things I wanted to watch. So I spent a little more than I'm proud of on loot boxes, but I finally got Witch Mercy. I'll just think of it as a present to myself for overcoming my anxiety and going to an interview today--er, yesterday. They had a Mercy skin for each of the two events so far, so she probably won't get another one for a while, and probably not one as good for a long time (didn't like her Summer Games one), so hopefully I won't be giving Blizzard any more money any time soon.
Bought $20 worth of loot boxes. Lots of crap, but I did get Possessed Pharah, Dr. Junkenstein, Arctic Zarya, and Blackbeard Torbjorn.
updated. I have every Legendary Halloween Skin, and unlocked a few other purples (Coldheart Reinhardt, Vampire Symmetra) and yellows (Steambot Bastion). $22, I guess I got my money's worth. I got three duplicates of Azurite Genji in 26 boxes, wtf. I don't know what to do with my 1485 credits. Valkyrie Mercy?
