I don't think it's getting overlooked in hardcore, at least. I had two different, totally organic conversations about the album with friends when the stream went up. Def one of the best records in the genre this year, probably the best.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity Completely forgot about this album until I was looking at my list of albums for the year to find something to listen to today and was surprised there was no thread for it.

White Lung, for sure. So many people on this site would love it and a lot have probably never even heard of it. Also the new Warpaint seemed to have come and gone, but that's a damn good record.
white lung had quite a bit of hype on here, lots of people were super into it i used to love it but i haven't listened in months, fell off big for me
Honestly I feel like Young The Giant's new album got overlooked! It's by far the best thing they've done and also one of the best albums this year!
white lung: female led punk with shredding guitars, though this album is more in a shimmery pop direction but still has the punk influences warpaint: artsy all woman indie pop with really cool percussion and they groove
St. Lucia, Wet, Lissie, Corinne Bailey Rae, Flume, Band of Horses, Sara Watkins, Shura, Young The Giant, Kishi Bashi, and Regina Spektor all put out solid records that I didn't see get much love overall
young the giant was great, mr. know it all and titus was born are two of the best songs to come out this year imo dope lemon (angus stones new band) put out a great debut record this year that no one seemed to care about miniature tigers is getting over looked and they once again find a new approach to their sound and have very well thought out production and songwriting
Just heard this for the first time and was crazy into it. @Wharf Rat It's psychedelic and shit, sorta. Are you on it?
This new Waterparks album is pretty great, really good pop-punk/pop-rock. Weird to see that the album doesn't even have a thread on here. Crazy enough, it dawned on me I hadn't seen much about this album on here after the band mentions absolutepunk in one of the songs.
I wanna be a sellout just to piss y'all off While absolutepunk's sucking off beard-punk songs Maybe if we're lucky we'll get a review And if that goes well, maybe a feature too
