Raine said in a reddit AMA and a recent interview tentatively late September/early October.

Original guitarist Mike Turner is a featured guest on the album, but at what capacity is yet to be disclosed. Ray Kurzweil is also back with more spoken excerpts from his book.

I am a huge OLP fan and my body is so ready for this.

 

Somehow I got super into this band senior year of high school. Think a kid at my lunch table was into them. Saw them once on the SM cycle and like 13 times on the Gravity cycle. Then never listened to them again. Heard about SM2 and I am intrigued but doubt it’ll hold my interest. That single is not doing it for me.

 

They shared clips of a few other songs (Future Disease, Holes, and Good Die Young) during a livestream last year, and they are all much better. Holes and Good Die Young in particular sound like some of their most inspired music since maybe even the first SM. I'm the most hyped I've been for an OLP album in a long time, and I hopped on the train during the Clumsy era when I was 11.

 

Second single expected to be out near the end of summer. I'm betting it's Future Disease. It's the most radio-friendly of the other 3 that they shared clips of last year.

 

If I’d heard that single on the radio I’d have never suspected it was Our Lady Peace. Not a compliment unfortunately

Second single is out now. Album officially out January 28, but Raine said it will be exclusively available early as an NFT next month. Unfortunately NFTs are a foreign language to me but hopefully someone will be able to rip it.

 

January is so fucking far away....

 

Seriously. This album was announced in August of last year.

 

Just got around to listening to the two singles off this record. I haven't really been much they've done recently but these new songs sound really good. Dave Sitek def did a great job on the production for this.

Really loving the more indie dance-rock vibe on these tracks.

 

Third single Holes has dropped

 

NFTs (merely 100) of the album were released today for $30 (including a forthcoming signed physical cover and personal video thanks) and I snagged one despiting having to jump through a few hoops. Album is fantastic and possibly their best album since maybe the first Spiritual Machines, although I loved Gravity and Curve, so take that as you will. It is definitely closer to SM sonically though compared to those albums. Ray Kurzweil sounds much older now, but it has been 21 years.

 

The singles are some of the weakest on the album, and the latter half in particular is really strong imo.

After one listen on the way to work I struggle to even express my disappointment and displeasure in words

 

I am really afraid to listen to this for this exact reason.

The singles did almost exactly nothing for me, and I gave them all multiple listens.

 

Not only are the songs kinda bad but the production sounds awful to me, especially the vocals. He’s like trying to do both his falsetto and his normal voice and neither sounds right.

 

Sequel albums are rarely a good idea
