Happy to see Jason Segel back in action a bit more. But this story is BRUTALLY sad. I don't know if I'll be able to watch the film version of it without some serious emotional preparation.

It’s just kind of okay. The run time and the bouncing between timelines really messes with the flow of the movie. Jason Segel makes this for me. I was so happy to see him back in a movie.

I haven’t seen this, but for anyone who hasn’t read the original article, I can’t recommend it highly enough. Devastatingly sad, but beautifully written.

Wow I really loved this. Jason Segal might just be my favorite actor. I absolutely lost it when Dane pressed play on the voice mail the second time

I enjoyed this but agree that the timeline jumps were a little jarring. Segal was great though.

I didn’t mind the timeline jumps if they were done better. We just don’t really get to see them actually being friends with him prior to him moving in. One scene makes it seem like Casey Affleck doesn’t know him that well, but another guy says he slept on their couch throughout college

Also, for the love of God, let’s do away with the timeline card that’s presented like it’s being typed out on a typewriter.

the entire movie should have been the Call Me Maybe scene
is a journalist never not a dick in a movie haha
Jason Segel was practically playing Uncle Joey
the age gap with Casey and Jason and Dakota and the fact that no one had southern accents was distracting, I guess she could be 35 instead of 30

I think the problem with the timelines and framing Dane in the narrative were inevitable, the casting was good individually just cohesively did not make sense haha

also making this Blackfish and Megan Leavey is fascinating
