Loved season 2 and I'm surprised to see this thread is still only on 1 page! Why are people sleeping on this? It's such an odd blend of genre's (that works so well), and while ultimately predictable, episode to episode there were still surprising moments and it got to where it was obviously going to go in a less obvious way. Part of why I loved it so much may just have to do with my love of Rhys Darby and that the Kiwi style of humor just speaks to me. It seemed very final at the end of season 2 and I'm sure it's not a cheap show to make, so I don't have my hopes up for season 3. It could organically continue, but it also was a fitting end.
Finished this last night and loved it. Hope it can continue in some way but I'll echo the idea that I'm cool with it ending like this too.
Sort of but I honestly think it's a great ending if they were given the opportunity for more violence and revenge and just said nah because it means Ed has shaken his pirate side, and Steve never gave in to it fully. That makes for a nice and complete ending for me
Given the way the last season ended I'm not really sure where they would've gone with a third season but this is still a bummer. Felt like there was a lot more they could've done with the concept as a whole.
I would have loved more, but definitely don't consider it cancelled as it wrapped up extremely neatly like an intentional finale. I really liked that there was a tease for more that we're not getting as it creates a great arc for both of the leads Bonnet is avoiding the dark path, and Blackbeard is getting off of it. They both had an opportunity for further bloodshed and revenge, and said nope, we're good with the life that we can finally have together EDIT: I already said this just a few posts ago, damn this thread is so light for how great this was :(
