so so so backed, it's unbelievable. HOW'S THE FAMILY HOW'S THE FAMILY HOW'S THE FAMILY HOW'S THE FAMILY
So I really love how in "These 3 Things" starting at the 1:36 mark there is this subtle shrill build up of violins. It made me realize that bands use feedback buildup in a similar vein to like an orchestra holding notes/tuning before a performance to build up tension.
Happy to see someone else mention Grizzly Bear. I put on Shields this morning after listening to this album. Different albums, for sure, but I just felt a similar vibe.
The feel of your honey in the corner of my mouth Like a loop around the block, like a shadow in your notebook
I’m so hype to hear this even though I never fully latched onto them. Gotta cop my ticket to see the tour with Snail Mail too.
I know you've been on a post punk tip lately so I thought it would fit nicely, happy you enjoyed it! And I'll fill in the gaps in their discog to morow, good lookin out
yeah, that post-punk/goth/new wave dark 80's and 80s revival shit's really been hitting the spot for me the past few weeks, good observation haha. anything else in that lane you've been digging these days?
Honestly I think you're way more well versed in the genre than I am, it's starting to click with me more recently than ever. If you haven't listened to all the Iceage records, that's the only thing I'd enthusiastically push on ya
Iceage is my favorite band doing the post-punk thing. The sound they achieved on the last LP is beyond incredible. Savages is great too, but I feel you may know them?
I love their first two albums. Unsure about this. I hate the affectation. Was “Take Everything” from a different session?
