Yunahon would have been a huge fuckin hit if the production was bigger, there’s no questioning the songwriting

anyways I’m at the doctor’s office and forgot my earbuds so I can’t listen to the new tune rn and I’m mad

 

I really don't think the bigger sound suits him as well. well actually, I don't think it suits the real monsters songs as well (with like two exceptions) but I think it could've worked for Yunahon, esp with those soaring guitar lines at times. but I like how charming it is with the rougher production

I definitely think yunahon is the better record, but real stories is one i return to more often

 

wanna buy it bc itd be a nice record to have on vinyl but don't want to bc no turntable atm

 

yeah real stories feels rly transitional to me? like it's the bridge between his State Lines stuff and Yunahon and makes sense that way now. gotta listen to it fresh

 

I still haven’t been able to get into Real Stories in full, but the closer is def top 5 Oso songs. I actually really like the first EP.

did you end up seeing them play the songs when you admitted it or?

 

i mean i loved this album but i was very high on the other, and i had the same production concerns i still do but now after letting the songs sink in the songs are definitely better on this one

 

yeah at the time i didn't hear what you meant about the big moments, bc the songs definitely felt huge to me -- but i think after seeing him i realized the actual sound didn't make it sound as huge as it could've been. It reminds me of The Photo Album in that way

 

saw this song live a few weeks ago, it was awesome then and its awesome now on tape.

 

i think this is the song he was demoing a few months ago (december?) that's on his insta

 

subside is great too. Really ready for another full length

 

I finally know what gb/ol h/nf means now and I'm pretty dumb I didn't catch it after the first two listens

To be fair, it also took me months before I admitted yunahon was better than Real Stories (or Hoffman Manor too). It just didn't click for a while.

 

maybe yunahon being my first colors my vision a little

 

I love real stories, even more North Star vibes on that one
