For a while I liked real stories much more than this

    The ep is mediocre tho

  2. I like real stories a lot, this is just better.

booo how’d I know you’d be on the opposite (re: wrong) side of this one? !!!

    ;p

EP has some awesome hooks and is just really fun all around. I find most of Real Stories to be kinda grating, if I’m being honest.

I forgot how much I like this album. Deep down though I wish for a State Lines reunion, I know it won’t happen for a while though

I listened to some of the State Lines stuff after I listened to that EP and I gotta say I didn’t really like it at all.

    I’m interested.

Anybody know if Jade is a Tegan and Sara fan? The Expiration Date reminds me a ton of Back In Your Head, and a few moments on Yunahon immediately brought them to mind.

Hoffman Manor by SL will always be one of my fav albums ever. The backing vocals really bring that album to another level, but I can see how people may not like it immediately.

For The Boats was good but a bit of a letdown after HM tbh. Linger is def the best song there. Their EP I’m meh on.

Turns out HM is not on Apple Music, so I only sampled stuff from the EP and For The Boats.

for the boats is weird but cool, nothing is close to the oso stuff tho

    Play the Yakuza series

Yeah Hoffman Manor is only on bootcamp which is weird

Real Stories is so damn good. EP is ok

Never got into State Lines but I should try again

Hoffman Manor is dear to me but I know it's not their best work. I'd say yunahon mixtape is their most accomplished work and then Real Stories on par with Hoffman Manor. For the Boats is really great too but not quite like the others.

I had no idea about this Osoosooso EP until I saw everyone in here talking about it. Just started listening to Oso Oso with Yunahon so getting "new" music to enjoy is pretty cool.

Well deserved, I'm excited for what they do next. They're already demoing stuff, so late 2018 follow up? Assuming they don't get scooped up by a label?

I'm going to go ahead and guess them and Prince Daddy sign to Sideonedummy in 2018

I could see Oso Oso signing to tiny engines, dunno if I see them fitting in as well on sideonedummy though. Not sure why I feel that way

I feel like they can go a little bigger than Tiny Engine

You think so? The crowd for them was a lot bigger for them last time I saw them vs the first time, but it still wasn't as big as the other bands at that show (including the Hotelier). Unless you meant like potential to get bigger bc then yeah you're right I agree there. They've got the sound for that for sure

Yeah I think they can go bigger, I also think Hotelier can though. But I can definitely see them signing to TE too. I'm surprised that didn't happen for this album

Side One signing all of these bands at once reminds me of when Rise just went and signed all of the 2010 pop-punk bands like Man O, Transit, Polar Bear Club, etc.

Except in this case it will be good for all these bands where the Rise signing kind of killed all of those bands.

Makes sense with S1 tho based on the rest of their lineup. Pup, Jeff, Rozwell, etc.

S1 is always more dude centric lineup wise than I expect them to actually be...I know they’re great people and women are involved with the label but it’s still genuinely surprising how the split is a lot greater than to be expected
