    There's some good tracks and moments on it ("computer exploder" is a great Oso Oso track) and I applaud him for trying some new stuff. It sounds to me like he's been listening to 90's and earlier classic rock and that informed a lot of the songwriting on this.

    Overall the deeper into it you get, the more it feels like bedroom demos he had lying around and decided to release which don't have the more consistent quality of his usual stuff.

    Well, some of it was definitely bedroom demos they did while his cousin Tavish was still around, but it was later mixed by Mike Sapone, so it's not that raw, sounds just about right in that context.
