Been a long time fan of Yunahon mixtape and the gb/ol h/nf/ subside singles but didn’t like most of basking in the glow.. so I’m cautiously excited.

Basking in the Glow was absolutely brilliant imo, but the lead single from this was fine.

Just realised this came out nine minutes ago for me.

Okay a few songs in. This feels like a small evolution rather than a departure from BITG which I am very happy with.

Got to describe you and agree this is the highlight thus far.

 

Liked this on first listen but feels like a pretty big step down from basking, which is a bummer. Just not feeling it as much—but maybe that will change!

Fly on the wall and describe you are cool but I don’t like the rest. What a bummer. I guess I’ll just stick to Yunahon Mixtape and 3-4 songs off Glow.

 

Main member Jade Lilitri had been demo-ing the album in early 2021 with his cousin Tavish Maloney at producer Billy Mannino’s (of Bigger Better Sun) Two Worlds Recordings, and the plan was to take a month off and then go back and decide where and who to work with to complete the album, when Tavish suddenly passed away. When that happened, Jade decided not to touch the songs and release them as is, only handing it over to Long Island veteran Mike Sapone (who also produced and mixed Oso Oso's 2019 album Basking in the Glow) to mix.


"the making of this record is a now a memory of a time that i hold closer to my heart than anything," Jade said via press release. "regardless of how i feel about these songs in the years to come, i am so happy this exists. thanks for listening. be decent."

Jade may have originally considered these songs "demos,"

 

Bought the vinyl before even listening that’s how confident I am in oso oso

 

Describe You is the highlight so far. Listened to the album all the way through on my way to work, including Tav World, but now that one's greyed out, lol.

 

Yeah why is Tav World greyed out?

 

Guessing it's because it basically just a recording of them smoking weed, hah.

I don’t love this on first listen, but I do really like it. Pensacola isn’t my favorite but has grown on me. Shocked no one has mentioned computer exploder. That is such a crazy opener.

Lyrically, yeah, but this is probably the most yunahon sounding song here so I’m a little surprised to see this

 

Not paying super close attention, but I like this a lot. Describe You is really good
